Tyrion never thought he'd find himself in this situation after he escaped his family. Homeless and living on the streets. It really opened his eyes. It got to the point where Tyrion didn't even know what day it was or how long he'd been there. And just when Tyrion felt the most hopeless he'd ever felt, he met someone who would change his life.

You carefully approached the smaller man with a smile on your face. Tyrion looked up at you in surprise. Most people tended to ignore him, especially now that it was getting colder. You reached out and that was when Tyrion noticed something in your hands. "Here. It's going to be pretty chilly out here tonight. You're going to need this." Tyrion gingerly took the blanket from you, his eyes never leaving you. You reached into your pocket and produced a few bills. "Get yourself something hot to eat, okay?"

Tyrion started shaking his head, but his stomach growled rather loudly. Chuckling to himself, he took the money from. In his head, he vowed to pay you back one day. You turned to walk away. "Wait." You glanced back at Tyrion. "Thank you. I will never forget this. Or you. A Lannister always repays his debts." You gave him a smile and shook your head. "There is no debt," was all you said before disappearing from Tyrion's view.

*two months later*

Tyrion smiled at the view from his new office. He was grateful that, despite being homeless, he'd still had some connections in the country. With the money you had given him and, Tyrion had used only a small amount to buy food. The rest, he put to work along with his own intelligence. He started a small business and almost immediately began making money. He was even able to hire employees, including one of his closest friends, Podrick. Podrick's office was nearest to the door and he had specific instructions. To keep an eye out for you and let Tyrion know if you came inside.

Tyrion wasn't sure if he'd ever actually see you again, but he had a plan in place if he did. He had kept the blanket you'd given him and put a stash of money aside to pay you back. If he ever saw you again, he'd give you those things and thank you as many times as he could before you couldn't take anymore. He only hoped he'd get the chance one day.

Just as Tyrion was sitting back down, he heard Podrick's voice. "Can you wait right here, please? My boss would like to talk to you." Podrick appeared at Tyrion's door a moment later, not even bothering to knock. "Tyrion, it's them. The one you told me to keep an eye out for. Says their name is Y/N." Tyrion grabbed the blanket and money and dashed out of his office. Sure enough, it was you. You were looking around the room in amazement.

Tyrion moved as quickly as his legs would carry him over to you. You glanced toward the sound of someone approaching you and gaped openly at Tyrion. Of course you recognized him from a couple months prior. When he'd disappeared, you'd assumed that he'd either found somewhere to stay or that the worst had happened. "W-What? How did you build this so fast?" Tyrion laughed.

"Never mind about that." He handed you the items in his hands. You looked between those and Tyrion with a look of confusion. "I told you, a Lannister always repays his debts. You did me a great service, giving me the means to start this little business so I could stand on my own two feet again. Now I have the means to pay that back and then some."

"I told you that there was no debt. I didn't give this to you with an expectation to be paid back. I gave it to you to help. And I can see that it did. I'm amazed at how fast you were able to do this," you told him with a chuckle. Tyrion smiled. "I'd be happy to discuss it with you...perhaps over coffee?" You stared at him for a moment before your lips spread into a grin. "You know what, coffee sounds great. I was looking for something to do on my day off." Tyrion gave a nod. "Wonderful. Shall we?"

Tyrion escorted you out of the building and down the street to a nearby coffee shop. After a few moments of light conversation, Tyrion spoke up again. "I cannot thank you enough for what you did for me." You laughed. "I didn't do anything, Tyrion. You did. All I did was try to help out someone in need. You were responsible for what you did with what I gave you. You changed your own circumstances. It speaks highly of your intelligence."

For a minute, Tyrion didn't say anything. No one had ever really said anything like that about him before. Especially not his family. Yet here you were, still practically a stranger, telling him that he was more than most people saw. You didn't look down on him because of his height, or lack thereof. You didn't run away at the mention of his family name like most people did. Hells, you didn't even know who he was when you had so graciously offered him a bit of comfort for a night. You were just genuinely being a kind human being. That was something Tyrion wasn't used to.

"Tyrion?" Tyrion snapped back to reality. "Ah, sorry. What?" You smiled. "You zoned out there for a minute." Tyrion chuckled softly. "Sorry. Thank you, Y/N." Your smile drooped and started to tell him once again that there was nothing to thank you for, but he stopped you. "Not for that. But for saying what you did just now. I may have started something great with what you've given me, but I wasn't sure I had the confidence to keep it. Part of me was certain I would end up right back where you found me. But you've given me a lot to think about, just knowing that someone has a little faith in my abilities." You gave a little shrug.

"It was nothing." Tyrion shook his head and reached over to place his hand on yours. "It was everything, actually. And I can't thank you enough. If you ever need or want anything, it's yours if it's in my power." You merely stared at him until you found your voice. "Just one thing." Tyrion nodded, indicating that you should continue. "Never doubt yourself again. You've managed something in a few short months that it takes most people a lifetime to build. You have a very successful future in front of you, Tyrion."

That day, after spending a few more hours together, you and Tyrion parted as friends. You ended up making a standing engagement of getting coffee once aweek, just to catch up. As your friendship grew, so did Tyrion's business. He soon asked you to be his business partner, saying it wasn't anywhere near what you deserved, but he still felt the need to repay you. After a bit, you decided to let him repay you in the form of an actual date. Neither of you knew where life would take you from there, but you were willing to face it as long as you and Tyrion could lean on one another.
