You were panting as you continued your treadmill run. You were hoping to be done soon. He was going to be there soon. You didn't know his name or anything else about him. You only knew that you went to the same gym and that he was hot. Tall, built like an ox, and quiet. He came in, did his work out and left. He didn't talk really to anyone. What he did do, however, was distract you from your own work out.

The first day you'd ended up at the gym together, you were on the treadmill while he was lifting weights. His back was to you and you could see every muscle moving through his tight workout shirt. You nearly fell off the treadmill that first day. You were so embarrassed, you almost didn't finish your workout. You'd never been distracted by a guy during a workout before. Since that day, you tried to get your exercise in before he arrived, typically leaving as he was walking in.

You decided to shorten your workout that day, just so you could get out of there before he showed up. You reached the door the same time he did. He opened it and let you pass. You managed to squeak out a "thank you" before practically running toward your car.

The man, Sandor Clegane, watched you hurry toward your car. He wasn't sure why it bothered him so much as it hadn't before, but it did. He knew he wasn't much to look at with his scarred face, but he'd never had someone leave just because he entered a room.

He remembered the first day he saw you. You were running on the treadmill, a thin sheet of sweat on your brow, in deep concentration. He went to do his own workout, but he could feel your eyes glued to him as he moved. Since that day, however, you were always leaving as he came in. Sandor didn't even know what he had done to offend you, but he was determined to find out. He didn't care if you told him that you were disgusted by his disfigurement. He just wanted to know.

Two days later, Sandor returned to the gym. He didn't see your car in the parking lot, so maybe he'd beaten you there. Deciding that working out was better than just sitting around and waiting, Sandor made his way to the bike.

He wasn't there long when he saw you approaching. You opened the door and froze when you saw him. Sandor could see the internal debate you were having before you gave in and started exercising. As usual, you headed for the yoga mats for some calisthenics first before heading for the treadmill for a short run. That's when Sandor took his chance.

He got off the bike and got on the treadmill next to yours. In your surprise, you slipped and nearly fell off. "Dammit," you muttered. "Are ya alright?" You nodded, uncertain why he was talking to you. "Ya know, the gym is big enough fer both of us. Ya don't have ta leave when I come in." You turned the equipment down to walking speed and glanced at him.

"I know that," you whispered, averting your gaze when he looked at you. "Would ya look at me when I'm talking ta ya? I know 'm not much ta look at, but aren't ladies supposed ta have good manners?" You glared at him, making him chuckle. You couldn't fight the smile on your face at his teasing. "I didn't mean to offend you. To be honest, it is because of how you look, but not the way you think!" you rushed through it.

Sandor quirked a brow at you and you felt your face heat up again. "I-I get distracted by you." Embarrassed by your confession, you turned off the treadmill and got off. You scurried away, but Sandor followed. "What do ya mean?" You groaned at his curiosity. Most people would have taken it as a compliment and run with it. Not him.

"I mean, you're really hot and it's a distraction." Sandor's jaw nearly hit the floor. He couldn't believe that anyone thought that about him, let alone a beautiful woman. The two of you stood there in awkward silence and once again, you were grateful that you chose to come to the gym when no one else was there. Less people to humiliate yourself in front of and right now, you were mortified at the fact that you just admitted that.

"I'm just gonna go," you muttered, but Sandor cleared his throat and stopped you. "Ya should at least finished your workout. I'll go." You shook your head and sighed. "No, you're right. The gym is more than big enough for both of us." You gave him a shy smile. "Do ya mind if I exercise with ya?" You shook your head, indicating that you didn't mind at all. At least if he was with you, you'd be less likely to fall on your face trying not to look at him.

The two of you finished your workouts together, talking and laughing as you powered through. You finally learned his name and a little bit about him. He was a personal trainer but he couldn't tell you for who and you didn't mind. "Ya gonna tell me your name?" he asked as the two of you were leaving. You laughed when you realized you hadn't yet. "Sorry. My name is Y/N and, at this very moment, I am running late. I'll see you in a couple days, Sandor." You walked to your car, Sandor watching as he approached his own, making sure you got there safely.

When you got to your car, you stopped and looked around for him. "Hey, Sandor?!" He arched a brow again in question. "Would you like to have dinner with me sometime?" Sandor just stared at you, not even caring that he probably looked stupid. You had just surprised him in a way no one had before. No one asked Sandor on a date. Hells, no one ever really talked to Sandor. But you did.

"I'll let you think about." Before you could get in your car, Sandor basically shouted, "Don't need ta." You cocked your head to the side. "I'd like it. Dinner, I mean." You beamed. "Great! I really have to go now, but we'll work out the details when I see you again." You climbed in your car and drove off, leaving Sandor staring after your car, a rare, small smile on his face.
