You couldn't help but notice a slight change in your best friend's behaviour since hanging out with him more frequently again.

He had become more reserved and seemed lost in his own thoughts. It pained you to see him becoming more secretive with you, as you had always shared everything with each other.

One day, you were peacefully taking a walk in the woods, leading the way you sometimes skipped or twirled into the depths of the flower-filled field.

Alastor would watch in amusement, ignoring the heart flutters he would get. How he wished to twirl you around and pull you into a kiss in that moment.

"The weather is quite pleasant today," you remarked with a light chuckle. The sun's radiance creates a momentary sense of contentment and well-being.

Unlike Alastor, he found himself unable to shake the events of the previous evening. The pocket knife concealed within his jacket had served a practical purpose in defending against another intoxicated individual last night.

Not that it fazed him.

What bothered him was the thrill he felt jabbing the dead body, his fingers twitching to raised the knife covered in the thick iron as he had a lick tasting the blood left on the knife he had for protection. Of course, that's what it was there for...

He experienced a sensation in his throat, desiring to partake further but restrained himself.

"Alastor?"

Alastor was abruptly brought back to the present when he noticed your concerned expression as you stood before him.

"Are you ok?"

Alastor was unaware of the state of confusion he had entered, as evidenced by the beads of sweat trickling down the side of his face.

"Apologies, my dear, it appears to be slightly warm," he dismissed, slipping his jacket off. Despite your concern, you chose not to press the matter further and instead took his hand as you continued your stroll.

"Where are we headed?" he asked, a slight frown creasing his brow. "We're venturing far from our familiar surroundings, seeking a deeper connection with nature. I desire a day free from distractions, where it's just you and me, just us." You responded with a reassuring smile.

"You're not planning to murder me, are you darling?" Alastor said with a hint of amusement on his tone.

"How could I ever do such a thing?" You gasped dramatically, giggling after.

"No, I just simply want some time with you."

"How thoughtful I feel rather loved." Alastor said, smiling.

You finally located the stream you inadvertently came across the other day while lost in contemplation and instantly recognised it as a place you desired to share with Alastor.

"This is indeed a remarkable sight," Alastor remarked, his gaze fixed upon the pristine waters below seeing his reflection.

He observed your reflection standing behind him from the water, recognising the familiar expression in your eyes.

With a swift motion, he turned around and gently grasped your arms, pushing you into the water.

Emerging to the surface, you gasped in surprise. "Alastor!" you exclaimed.

"It was merely self-defense, my dear," Alastor responded with a light chuckle.

"Can I at least have some help?" You groaned.

"Certainly, my dear." He graciously extended a hand for you to take. As you accepted his hand, a subtle smile played on your lips, revealing a hint of mischief in your eyes.

Alastor noticed the change in your expression, but before he could respond, he found himself unexpectedly falling into the water with you.

A burst of laughter escaped your lips as you revelled in his surprise and the success of your playful prank.

Alastor emerged from the water, shaking the water from his hair. "(Y/N), I shall have my revenge for this!" he declared.

"Oh, I am so frightened," you teased, now floating on your back. "Ah, this is quite pleasant, don't you agree?" you inquired as Alastor observed you with a warm smile.

"Indeed it is, though you have caused me to lose my glasses," he chuckled as you widened your eyes in realisation. "Oh gosh, Alastor, should we search for them? I can certainly replace them!" you exclaimed, swimming closer to him.

"My dear, it is of no consequence," he reassured you with a grin. "I only require them for one eye, after all. I can still see quite well."

"I still feel bad."

"Darling, it's absolutely fine, I should have a spare pair at home." He chuckled, not realising how close you two were.

You found yourself unexpectedly gazing at Alastor, observing his facial features more closely without his glasses. You couldn't help but have certain thoughts cross your mind, how he looked with wet hair and how it stuck to his forehead, the water dripping down his face as he-

"Should we leave before we catch a cold?" You said nervously, causing Alastor to be slightly taken aback. He was also staring at you, his heart pounding in his chest as he noticed the particular look you were giving him.

"Sure." Alastor smiled lightly. Alastor was the first out of the stream as he extended a hand, which you gladly accepted as he helped you out.

"Thanks, Al."

"Certainly, my dear. I must say, you have stumbled upon a beautiful scene. I am honoured that you chose to share it with me." Alastor said, politely averting his gaze from your wet clothing now sticking to your body, your curve was very noticeable as you could see see the outline of your breasts, your nipples piercing through the fabric.

You tried not to stare yourself as Alastor shirt was now sticking to his body becoming transparent on him.

"Al, I'm delighted that you enjoyed it. It is indeed a beautiful place to be during the warm weather. Perhaps we could return here sometime and go swimming, but this time with appropriate attire." You suggested.

"I would be happy to take you up on that offer." Alastor replied.

You looped your arm on to his. "Let's head back, shall we? Come back to mine, like old time. I miss hanging out with you. Let's just be kids again. Forget about all these responsibilities we have as adults." You pouted with your bottom lip, sticking out begging with your eyes.

"I find it challenging to decline a request when confronted with such an expression," Alastor remarked with a light chuckle.

"I knew that would work. Let's go! I'm sure you got some clothes left in my room anyway to get change into." You reassured him as you both made your way back to your place, unaware that your feelings for your best friend were becoming more evident after suppressing them.
