Hi dear readers. I'm TRULY SORRY 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 for going MIA on you guys. It's been quite rough for me in the last two months because I am at a crucial point in my life. To cut the story short, I am very sorry for keeping you guys waiting. I feel guilty that is why I decided to find the time to write this chapter.

So let's dive into chapter 74. I know I ended the last chapter with a cliffhanger, so here, we are going to know who was talking with Demilade in the last chapter. And expect a bit of drama.

Enjoy.....

Song for the chapter - ONE By Lewis Capaldi

"Hi." He said flatly.

"Hi. It's been a while now." She said excitedly, flashing her white teeth at the same time fluttering her long eyelashes.

"I guess so." His voice sounded bored.

"C'mon Demmy, why are you sounding like that? Aren't we friends now?" She sounded a bit disappointed. "I thought you'd let go of the past. I already said I'm sorry. Are you still angry at me?" She asked with a childish pout.

Demilade looked away rolling his eyes, bored already. He doesn't even know what to say to her.

"It's been a long time. I really miss you. Have also missed seeing you in native like this." She said looking at him seductively, biting the corner of her painted lips. She walked closer to him and pulled him into an embrace which didn't surprise Demilade a bit. He had seen the move she was about to make. He knew her very well. She can be more cunning than his other ex.

So, while she embraced him, he just stood still and let her continue on her futile attempt while she hugged him tighter in the hope that he will respond to her moves and tight embrace. But he knew better.

So, Demilade stood with his impassive stare, hand firmly at his side. When he noticed she wasn't pulling away coupled with what she was trying so hard to do and the scent of her strong perfume, he decided to end it. So he pulled her away. She was reluctant but he didn't hesitate either.

"That's enough." He said icily.

For a split second, she looked disappointed. Not like he cared about how she felt. She was obviously trying to body smug him to get a reaction from him.

He noticed her countenance changed a bit to disappoint. Not like he cared. But she quickly masked it with her flashy smile.

"I guess you're still angry at me then. I thought we are good now. I already told you that I am sorry." She apologized making a puppy face. She knew how that usually get a good reaction from him. He has a soft spot for that face probably because it was always hard to get that face from her.

"I'm not angry just uninterested." He spoke truthfully.

He noticed the change on her face which lasted for a split second.

"Common, I'm not asking for anything. I just want us to be friends. For old-time sake Demmy let bygone be bygone okay?"

"Fine." He waved the idea off. "So what are you doing here?" He couldn't help but ask her.

"I came with some friends." Was her short reply. She has no intention of telling him why she had come to the party or with who.

"Good for you then." He stated. "I need to go now."
