Shelby's birthday was tomorrow, and Sadie, the terrible friend she is, made Shel's night terrible and all about her possibly unrequited love.

So, after talking Shel's ear off about Jaz, Sadie created a group chat without her best friend.

    emo: wtf

the best person ever: we need to do something for Shel's birthday

stock photo white guy: when is it

the best person ever: literally tomorrow

stock photo white guy: oh shit

stock photo white guy: I'm running to target as we speak to find something

emo: I just got her a new mic

ace is on the case: rich people are a different breed

the best person ever: I say we buy a cake and celebrate during lunch and rehearsal

stock photo white guy: isn't she more of a cookie person? I'm by this bakery that sells really good cookie cakes for 10 bucks

a literal elf: IDK why I'm here since I'm not in the main group, but I have spare party hats that you can steal

stock photo white guy: who is you

a literal elf: Leo Valdez, at your service

    emo: aren't you in crew?

    a literal elf: ye

lightning mclean: I remember Shel saying something about loving churrasco

lightning mclean: I can buy some for her

ace is on the case: I'm just giving her a 10 dollar visa gift card

ace is on the case: rich people really do be a different breed

the best person ever: okay, so we give her gifts at lunch then do the whole food thing at rehearsal?

all because I don't want to write everyone: yeah, that works

the best person ever: okay, great

the best person ever: Leo, you are officially a member of this group; welcome to hell

a literal elf: this is such an honor

-

the best person ever: don't bring food to rehearsal tomorrow

the best person ever: one of the parents is giving us pizza

    ~gay~: thank fuck

~gay~: I did not want to pack a double lunch

-

When she entered the locker room, Shel did not know the group was aware of her birthday until Sadie suffocated her in a hug.

"Happy fucking birthday, Shel!" Sadie exclaimed, squeezing her tighter.

    "Thanks, I can't breathe."

    Sadie let go. "Sorry."

"You're good, I'd just like to survive a little bit longer you know?"

-

Shel completely forgot about her birthday again until lunch.

At first, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary, then Leo was sitting at their table. She wasn't against it, just surprised.
