Being a parent isn't as easy as it seems.
I've been a single mother ever since my son was a few weeks born.
My baby father Von just got out of jail 9 months ago and I haven't seen him in such a long time.
He comes and sees his son when he can but me & him haven't had any face to face interaction.
Any time it was messiah birthday , I would let Von come get him.
Then I would spend the remaining time with him.
It's just too much for me.
Von & I was sooo young when we decided to bring Messiah is this world.
We ain't spend much time-together as a young couple cause soon as we started to I got pregnant.
Then I gave birth and a week after Von was in jail.
I did not see him while he was locked up and I broke up with him while he was in the cell.
Call me bogus but I had to live my life.
I did just that, I got my associates in Accounting and I work as a accounting clerk.
It's not the best job in the world but it got my baby & I a place to stay and me a car.
Von works at Walmart , he is an cashier.
He don't like it but oh well.
We don't live in the same neighborhood no more.
So when he picks up the baby for school, he usually is early.
He stays in Parkway and I stay Gold Coast
A/N: If y'all confused about this, these are two different neighborhoods in Chicago.
I head to my son room and find him putting on his outfit.
He doesn't wear uniform , so he's always dripped in designer thanks to his dad.
I wasn't into shit like that, I would work some clothes from Target in a minute.
"Mama why don't you and daddy see each other when he come gets me?"
Damn Messiah must notice I stay in my room while Von is in the hallway.

I honestly don't know how to face Von. He's older and I know he's probably more crazier.
I'm not scared of him but I am scared of what he's capable of.

He knocks on the door like he does every weekday and Messiah runs to the door.
I walk up with Messiah and I open the door.
I look at my ex . He's much different from when he was arrested.
