"Goodnight mama, Goodnight daddy" I say about to walk upstairs .
But daddy of course had to open his mouth.
"Goodnight? Star why you going to bed so early?" My daddy asked.
He's so damn noisy, makes no sense.
For those who don't know, I'm Star.
I was born in 1996 to Candace & Micheal James.
My parents aren't your typical cool parents.
I have a bedtime & I go to church with my parents every Sunday.
They are also older than the typical, so they don't play that shit.
I'm 15 & my parents still treat me like I'm a baby.
Why? I do not know.
Like now, just let me rest.
"I'm very tired from school . I need to get some rest" I obviously lie.
"Okay . Well goodnight baby. We love you, go kiss your siblings and tell them we love them too" Mama says before I head upstairs.
That goes completely over my head and I hop my lucky ass into bed.
I been rushing to get out of school to talk to my man Von.
He's 17 & a gang member.
Daddy & Mama wasn't going for that but they can't tell me who to love.
