"When's the wedding anyway?" Joe said jokingly

Caitlin blushed, and took a deep breath and said in one breath "Barry asked me a year ago, after 6 months of being together"

"Wait what!?!? Why didn't you say anything to anyone? !!!" Joe asked in amazement

"Barry wanted to wait for things with Nora to settle down before telling anyone." she replied, blushing even more

There was a few seconds of silence, then Barry came and said

"What are you two secretly talking about?"

"Why didn't you tell me you asked Caitlin to marry you?" Joe asked

"I didn't want to force Nora to accept Caitlin... then I didn't know how you and the others would react" said Barry embarrassed.

"I'm not angry, I'm not offended because you're replacing my daughter if that's what you think, but I'm partially offended because you didn't tell me about it before!"

"Joe I'm sorry ... we ..."

"Anyway I'm happy for you, you are well together, going back to the original question, when will you get married?"

"We don't know yet... " said Caitlin "...hopefully before Christmas"

"Well, how did you plan to organize it?" Joe asked sitting on the sofa

"Well there is a problem before we organize it, one that we tried to ignore and put off," Caitlin said

"What is it about?" Joe asked

"Iris, legally is a missing person, so we're still married..." Barry said

"Isn't there something we can do?" Cecile asked from their shoulders, she had overheard everything

"The only way would be ..." Caitlin began to say and then froze

Barry took her hand and continued "...declare Iris dead"

Joe did not know what to say or think, he remained all day without saying a word, Wally and Jenna tried to understand what was happening, no one had the courage to answer their questions, it wasn't a matter to be taken lightly.

The next morning he went to the Star Labs to talk to Barry and Caitlin

"Barry, Caitlin... I thought about it all night, Iris would never leave, and since we never found her ... I'm afraid she is ... you understand" Joe stopped and started crying "We declare her death, it will be the first step to be able to really move forward"

Barry and Caitlin hugged Joe, they said nothing, they couldn't say anything to change how much that man was suffering.

A few days had passed, the couple still did not know how to break the news to the others, they were talking about it in the infirmary when suddenly Cisco walked in with Frost

"Hey lovebirds how are you?" The engineer asked

"Hey Cisco, what are you doing here? I thought you and Kamilla were in Miami" Barry asked hugging his friend

"I decided to drop by here to say hello" Cisco replied

"Hoping you weren't doing something ..." Frost added

"Hey !!! Stop making comments like that !!" Caitlin said offended

"Sorry I was hoping to joke, it's not every day that your best friends get together, so when's the wedding!? !!!!" she said to tease her even more

"December 8" Barry replied

"What !!?!? When were you going to tell me!?!?" Cisco and First asked in shock

"We actually wanted to tell you tonight on the phone, and ask you to be a best man and maid of honor" Barry said.

"Really thanks, but won't Joe or Wally be jealous?" Cisco asked

"I doubt Joe is jealous as he is going to walk me down the aisle." Caitlin said smiling

"Sorry but how long have you decided to get married?"

"For a year" they said in chorus.

"You mean you kept it a secret for a year? Was it because of the fight with Nora that Joe told me about?" Cisco asked

"Yes, but Saturday it all worked out, Nora even called me MOM!" Caitlin said smiling from ear to ear

"Aww ..." Frost said, shocking Cisco even more. "Don't mention it to anyone," she said embarrassed

"Sorry but Iris is declared missing so...." Cisco began

"We talked to Joe and then we explained it to Nora, Iris will be pronounced dead, the office proceedings will be started tonight, if we haven't found her in these 2 years ... we don't think ..." Barry stops the pain was strong

"I understand, you don't have to materially say it, I miss Iris too, everyone misses her, no matter how unpleasant she might be and sometimes a stubborn hypocrite, she was an incredible person... and a great friend" Frost said, snatching a smile from his friend.
