"Aise... mere pair choone ki koyi zaroorat nahi thi" I said grimly.
"Shikshak ke samaan ho... Guru ka pair choona, galat baat toh nahi ho sakta na?" he replied.
"Tapas yeh mere Da hai. Trilochan Roy Chowdhary" Baba interfered.
Tapas immediately went to him and took his blessings.
"Bohot suna hai apke bare mein Zamindar babu"
"Sunna toh padega hi... Roy Chowdhary hai ham" Kaka started.
"Yeh Somnath... aur Batuk"
They shook hands.
"Yeh Anirudh ki patni, Bondita... Aur yeh Som ki patni Laya"
He extended his hands to Laya, who took it up shyly – slightly blushing. Som cleared his throat and Laya immediately pulled back, smiling nervously at Tapas. Next was Bondita's turn but she just folded her hands and welcomed him with her enchanting smile. I can see Kaka smirking from the corner of my eyes. Tapas raised an eyebrow at her but imitated soon after.
"Maaf kijiyega, lagta hai mein galat samay par aagaya hai..."
"Arre nahi nahi ham toh bas khana shuru karne hi wale the... Tum bhi beidh jao na" Baba insisted.
"Nahi uncle meine kha liya hai ap log kha lijiye"
"Arre pehli baar ghar aaya hai, aise keise ham tumhe jane de?" Baba continued.
"Koyi baat nahi uncle. Aj se toh aana and jana jari rahega"
"Binoy sahi kah raha hai. Ham Roy Chowdhary hai, ghar ke mehmaan ko bina adhiti satkaar ke wapas nahi bhejte... Beidhiye" Kaka said sternly.
"Theek hai" He laughed and sat beside Batuk.
"Bahu" Kaka gestured at Bondita.
"Ji KSJ" Bondita leapt up and prepared for adhiti satkaar.
Bondita's p.o.v
"Mujhe pata nahi tha Senior ke pas pehle se hi ek Junior hai" Tapas started a conversation with me.
We haven't talked in detail yet. He had just entered the study and we are waiting for Pati babu to come up. I wonder what's taking him long.
"Mein bhi abhi abhi shaamil hua hai, bas ek maheena" I shrugged and smiled.
"Weise kamal hai... Pati Senior aur Patni Junior" he commented.
I just smiled at him, my cheeks turning a shade darker.
"Ap Culcutta se hai na" I asked.
"Ji" he smiled.
"Mein sirf ek baar aayi hoon Culcutta... Um... Suna hai bohot achi jagah hai" I shook my head to keep those memories aside.
"I would't know" he shrugged "I was grown up in Britain... Isiliye... Culcutta mein bohot saal pehle choda tha, padhayi ke baad wapas aa gaya" he smiled again.
"Apne padhayi kahan ki thi Barristry ki?"
"London mein"
"London mein? Ham donon ne wahan se hi kiya hai. Kaunsa University?"
