Coming out of my own sudden brain death, I made sure to look at Sasur Ji's direction first. His veins are about to burst out of his temples as he started gritting his teeth in fury. Pati babu was still staring at the scene while Batuk gawked at the three of them, blinking in between.

"Dekh kya rahi ho bahu? Jao jakar arti ki dhali lekar aao" KSJ interrupted my train of thoughts.

"Lekin KSJ yeh... Laya? Tum in kapdom mein kya..."

"Yeh kya naya natak chal raha hai yahan da? Yeh ladki aise kapdom mein kya kar rahe hai? Kyun pehna hai isne yeh sab? Aur tum -" Sasur Ji shouted at KSJ who immediately interrupted, showing his palm before speaking.

"Binoy! Izzat se baat karo... Ab yeh koyi aam ladki nahi hai. Roy Chowdhariyon ki choti bahu hai... Laya Somnath Roy Chowdhary!"

I gasped in shock while Pati babu and Batuk repeated the same after me.

"Kaka yeh kya keh rahe hai aap? Som tumne... tumne Laya se shaadi kar li?" Pati babu burst out at him.

"Da ap jante hai Som ki shaadi humne Binley ki beti se tay kiya tha. Phir ap in donon ki vakaalat kyun kar rahe ho?"

"Shaadi Hamne nahi Binoy, tumne tay kiya tha" KSJ replied.

"Toh yeh hai aapka badla? Yeh koyi tareeka hai badla lene ka?"

"Yeh badla nahi hai Binoy. Hamne tumhare bete ka dil samjha tha... Woh pyaar karta hai Laya bahu se toh hamne bhi socha phir theek hai, weise bhi hamein ek gunwati, sanskaari bahu jo milegi. Naki angrezi" KSJ replied sharply.

"Som yeh sab kya hai? Agar tum Laya se pyaar karta tha toh tum hamse kaha kyun nahi? Ham kabhi tumhari icha ke virudh tumhari shaadi hone deti kya? Som Laya choti hai... sirf 15 saal ki hai. Aise keise kar di tumne yeh shaadi?" Pati babu shouted at Som dada and I immediately held his hand to calm him down. If he continues to shout this way, there are chances for him to lose his vocal chords in the near future.

"Wah bhai! Sau choohe khake billa haj ko chala! Hamne kaha tha usse Anirudh! Aur tum yeh sab baatein mat karo. Yeh mat bhoolna ki bahu sirf 8 saal ki thi jab tum use pehli baar iss ghar le aaye the"

"Uss raat ki baat alag thi Kaka. Ham sab jante hai ki -"

Pati babu froze for a moment, going completely numb. All the blood drained from his face and I instantly find myself worried for his health.

"Kya hua pati babu aap theek hai na?" I asked worriedly.

"Huh? Haan Bondi... Bondita mein theek hoon" He released his hand from my grip, glared at KSJ and stormed out of the hall, into his study. I heard the lock being pulled up and I immediately ran behind him, getting a glimpse of guilt ridden KSJ standing numb.

"Pati babu..." I knocked softly at the door "Darwaza kholo na"

When I didn't get any reply from the other side, I tried again.

"Ap naraz hai na Som dada aur KSJ se? Mein janti hoon. Lekin mujhse kaunsi naraazgi hai apko ki ap mujhse se bhi baat nahi karenge? Meine kaha hai na apko, phula hua mooh ap par bilkul bhi acha nahi lagta... Mein chahti hoon mere pati babu hamesha khubsoorat rahe... Kya kehte hai usse? Haan, Handsome! Ab agar ap muh phulate huye andar hi beidhenge toh Handsome babu kam Rakshas babu zyaada lagega"
