DR GAUL'S PICTURE FILLED THE SCREENS. This surely wasn't going to be good. "Capitol citizens, I'm afraid I must interrupt our Games to announce a tragic loss, one that affects us all. Felix Ravinstoll, son of our beloved president has, this morning succumbed to his injuries sustained in the rebel bombing."

My heart dropped when they showed his picture. Felix, covered in scars and bruises. Poor boy, he never deserved this. He was the only one that I actually liked out of our classmates. He wasn't like the others, he was kind and gentle, especially towards women. A quality that his father taught him well.

"I will not allow my games to give our enemy such victory. I swear to you, here and now, before the sun goes down tonight, a rainbow of destruction will engulf our arena. Even if it means there's to be no victor in these games."

I covered my mouth. No victor?

I wanted to convince myself that she was kidding but I know damn well she wasn't. I turned to my right to see Coriolanus running out of the auditorium.

What was he going to do now?

What was he going to do now?

My eyes widened as a big jar was lowered in the arena. "Please don't be mutts." I whispered to myself, they must be Dr Gaul's toys. From the things I saw in her laboratory, her toys were nothing playful.

My heart felt like it was being squeezed like lemon when the little girl from 8 walked out. I was never prepared for her death. She was a child.

"Is it over? Can we go home now?" She sniffed.
