Chapter 22 - The Road Ahead

In the Skies at around Southeast Asia

1.45pm, Singapore Time

The private jet Rock Dog owns has a private bedroom, which housed a queen-sized bed and a wall-mounted television and most of the time, it was Bodi who mostly occupies the bed because he preferred to spend the flights alone, meditating. "It's to store up my 'Fire'." was what Bodi always explained. It used to be Angus's private bedroom, but that bedroom now spiritually belonged to his mentee.

As usual, Bodi was meditating on the bed, but this time Darma was also in the room (there was a lounge chair closed to the bed) and she had been observing the mastiff's eyes closed for almost half an hour. She heard small but audible breaths of inhalation and exhalation. They and the rest of Rock Dog had discussed the plans for the Asia Song Festival, including the opening ceremony, rehearsals, dress rehearsals, jury show and the lot before the actual live show can happen. Still, Rock Dog also found out there would be pockets of free time to explore the island itself, something the band was also looking forward to. This was not Rock Dog's first time in Singapore, but this will be the first time they will be there as Mengguo representatives for the biggest singing competition in the Asia-Pacific.

There was one issue, however.

"Not now, Darma. I know what you're going to ask anyway," Bodi sensed his girlfriend wanted to ask about the engagement.

"I'm not going to, Bodi. You said it's too early to decide now. Well, never say never, I have to believe that."

Bodi changed the subject. "Anyway, looking forward to seeing your parents?"

"I'm definitely excited about going home. It's still the place where I belong, Bodi, just like your village. Except more expensive than yours. Anyway, Bodi, let's enjoy our time in Singapore, ok?"

Bodi smiled without opening his eyes. "I will. Now, do you mind leaving this room for a moment? I need to complete this meditation."

Darma got up and left the private bedroom, leaving the mastiff all the time he needed to prepare.

Seletar Airport, Singapore

3.30pm

While most would see the world-famous Changi Airport as the airport everyone uses, few knew about Singapore's second airport: Seletar Airport, located at the north-east side of Singapore. It is an airport mostly used by private plane users and cadet flyers. Now, most airport visitors would be able to sight the landing of a private plane that would belong to Rock Dog, and most visitors are either Rock Dog fans or media reporters.

Just as the media outlets spotted the members of Rock Dog and their delegation stepping onto the tarmac after clearing onboard immigration, they started hoarding the band with as much camera time onto them as possible, prompting Riff and Skozz to shield everyone as the delegation escaped to the airport terminal. Once again, Rock Dog's popularity had led to major paparazzi attention, even if they landed at a non-major airport.
