One Glass of Milk

ONE STORMY NIGHT,  a young boy knocked at a woman's house.

"Hello there! Anybody home?" asked the boy trembling in cold.

A woman opened the door and saw the young boy  trembling in cold...

"Who are you?" she asked.

"I am Howard, can I stay here for awhile? Im just trapped in the storm..." the boy asked with a shaken voice.

With pity look, the woman let him in, changed his wet clothes, wrapped his small body with a blanket and then immediately offered him one glass of milk!

"Thank you for your kindness, I will never forget you!" the young boy smiled at her with tears in his eyes.

"So, where are your parents, why are you still roaming outside in the middle of the storm, dear child?" asked the woman.

"My parents are gone, im just staying at my grandma's house in the other village,. I was on my way home awhile ago when  I got trapped by the storm," he answered.

The woman looked at him closely. "What are you doing in the other village?"

"I was hunting some food to eat for me and for my grandma...."

"Oh, youre so kind, my child. Your grandma is so lucky to have you!" said the woman in a low voice!

After hearing those heart touching talks, the woman hugged the boy with so much love...

Shortly, after their short conversation, the boy fall asleep...

The next day, the storm had gone...

The boy told the woman that he had to leave already...

"Sorry but I had to leave early, Surely, my grandma  is waiting for me now..thank you for giving me some space in your home... It was very kind of you...," said the boy with a cute smile on his face.

He hugged her tight and gave her one kiss before he turned to walk... From the time the boy left, they never met again.

Many years past....

The woman grew old and got serious illness. She was taken to nearby hospital for treatment. According to the doctors, she had to undergo an open heart surgery as soon as possible for her to survive!

Sadness covered her face knowing she had no money for her operation.

A nurse came to her room..

"Ma'am, today is the schedule of your surgery,.. In just a few hour you will be taken to the OR... So, calm down yourself, dont be tense.... And smile... Everything will be okey!" she smiled.

"Im so nervous, i dont have enough money to pay for the hospital bills.." said the old woman with a tearful eyes..

"Our main concern here is to save life... Your life is at risk, so we have to do everything possible before its too late.. Dont worry now, just relax yourself," said the nurse after she left the room.

The next morning after the successful operation had taken place, the old woman saw a note in her bed side.. Trembling in fear thinking it was the list of the hospital expenses she had to pay......the note read:

"Your hospital bills has been paid in just One Glass of Milk!"
