I know that this is kind of just filler, but I PROMISE that some of the things in this chapter are important to know. Also, in a couple of years (in the story), some things will actually happen and the story will kick off. I also know that you guys are waiting for me to finish the storyline in the future. Like, what's happening and why's there a war? All will be explained soon, my children. Also, thank you so much for almost a hundred reads, I'm honestly crying right now because I never thought one of my stories that I'm actually proud of would get this far. Seriously, thank you.

I exited the crowded Las Vegas airport, my small bag of luggage rolling beside me. The crisp autumn air stung my throat as I strolled down the parking lot and waited at the pickup area. People were hustling around, colorful scarves and cheerful voices standing out amongst the crowd. A black Mercedes pulled up, and I recognized the driver to be Matt, who I hadn't met outside of my dreams quite yet.

"Get in, Lover Boy." He commented, and I chuckled, setting my small brown suitcase in the trunk of the car.

I entered through the passenger door and buckled up, greeting Matt with a tiny wave. He was wearing a yellow sweater with white accents and simple dark jeans, but the colors complimented his eyes so that they appeared to be glowing a bright violet. His ears and tail were obviously not visible, but I could imagine them perking up at the sight of me.

"It's good to properly meet you. We have a lot to discuss over this long drive, so we better get to talking." Matt said, exiting the airport and driving onto the main road.

"I have a question, though. Why aren't we using magic to get from place to place? Wouldn't that take less time?"

"Yes, you are correct in the assumption that it would take less time." He explained. "However, people would be suspicious if you didn't show up to your flight, or if you suddenly disappeared on traffic cameras."

"I guess so. What did you want to talk about?"

"Your future with my sister." Matt calmly stated, his violet eyes glancing in my direction. For the first time, I noticed that his pupils weren't round; they were narrow slits.

"What about it?"

-Time Skip-

We arrived at the facility where my mom was being kept. Matt pulled into a parking spot and motioned for me to get out of the car. I unbuckled my seat belt and stepped out of the vehicle, admiring the building before me.

The two of us walked into the main lobby, immediately greeted by a familiar face.

"Hey, guys." Amelia waved at us shyly, which was a little odd, but I ignored it. She adorned a simple white hoodie patterned with yellow flowers and black pants.

"Hey, Beautiful," I responded, sweeping her up into a hug.

"How was your flight?" She asked, her voice slightly higher pitched than I last remembered.

"It was pretty boring." I kissed her sweetly.

There was a gagging noise from behind us.
