N A N D I N I

The rise of silence in my nervous system started darkening everything around. I breathed slowly and closed my eyes to gather some courage to look at my side for I never knew what darkness I would see in those hazel eyes. Slowly as I looked at my right, I found no change in his as usual indifference as he kept looking through the windshield for Ayyappa knew what possible cause.

As I looked through my window I was losing my mind not finding where exactly the car stopped because of the consuming darkness everywhere. Helplessly I stared back at him and he smirked.

Smirked at my powerlessness?

Without any question or answer, I stepped down the car clasping the purse in the middle of my chest unable to decide what to do next. I badly was having the feeling of being trapped in the middle of nowhere but I couldn't afford to show the lines of fear on my face specially to him.

Getting down from the car, he gazed at me resting his one hand on the roof of the car and the other on the door.

"You...." I cut him in the middle showing him my index finger.

"I always have thought there lies a line beyond which you can't stoop but how...how do you manage to prove me so wrong every time?" I yelped but his eyes got fixed at me exhibiting the pique.

Clenching his jaw he closed the door with a thud making me shudder while walking close to where I stood cautiously.

"Ms. Murthy watch your limit." He made a threatening remark pointing his index finger at me.

"Limit? Who should be within the limits now, me or you?" I paused seeing his eyes getting redder but I couldn't be weak enough to give up on my self respect and thus I continued, "You-you purposely are doing everything to me, isn't it? Firstly, at the gate today when I said I wasn't carrying my invite, you showed all those fake concerns to make people believe how much you actually care for your employees. But how I wish they-they knew how their idol broke through into his employee's house in the middle of the night to threaten her with her father's name. Then, you got me here in your car so that you could abandon me in the middle of the road and make something happen to me. Huh? So much...so much of plotting?" I hated the fact that I was shedding tears before him.

"What?" He found my words hard to believe.

I stepped a little back as I saw him nearing me.

"Are you out of your peanut sized brain?" He bent closer while I held my clutch tighter amidst my chest "Tell me something, do I pay you a bundle of notes to keep thinking of yourself only?" He grimaced.

All thanks to Ayyappa that he distanced himself away and turned back resting his hands on his waist while I still was sobbing.

"God! So unbelievable she is!" He exhaled rolling his eyes but soon the devilish smirk was back on his face making my throat go dry.

"But you know what, you're right. All these..are happening according to my plans only. It was all my plan. I had a dream that you'll be losing your invitation card and all thanks to my brilliant scriptwriter because of whom I instantly was able to steal the moment and make people believe in my fake concerns. Right. Totally right." He sniggered every now and then while I lowered my eyes not finding the twisted meaning behind his words.

Seeing me still immersed in thoughts with my rainy eyes and cloudy heart, he glared and inched closer pulling me by my elbows while I gasped. The moment I saw his eyes glowering like forest fire and the clench in that chiselled jaw, I knew I was gone.
