THE FOUR OF US JUMPED into the car and sat down in silence, apart from Ryan of course. Alex was more or less just existing in any case.

"I can't believe it," Bec said as she mindlessly clutched at the steering wheel. "We lost."

Her then pale face slowly turned towards me and she looked like she was going to faint.

"Well, I told you the Rivers were better," Ryan said with a shrug.

The car suddenly erupted with loud swearing and cussing. I swear I could even hear the car shaking. Yes, hear.

I also may or may not have called someone an ass.

Once the loud shouting stopped and the car was quiet, Alex, who was pretty much the only calm one, laughed, promting Ryan to laugh too.

Alex never really cared about watching games because he thought it was boring seeing people throw a ball into a hoop. He preferred playing the game itself. Seeing us so flustered about our favourite teams losing was always such a show for him.

"Let's all chill, 'kay?" Alex suggested. "Let's just head home and sleep, hmm?"

He looked at Bec and me with his eyebrows up. I could tell by the subtle rise of the corner of his lips that he was trying his best to settle the situation without laughing.

"Okay," Bec answered and she turned back to the front twisting the car keys and eventually starting the car.

"Damn, you didn't tell me Bec and Jamie were freaking Captain Marvel's cousins. They feisty as hell!" I could hear Ryan whisper to Alex.

Rolling my eyes, I gave Bec a sideglance and her eyes were already on the rear-view mirror, narrowed. "He didn't tell me that either," she said.

She twisted the steering wheel and moved out of the parking lot as Alex and I laughed.

I walked into our house exhausted and drained. It was barely even six and I felt like I'd been out for hours!

Mum, dad and Dee were sitting by the dining table already eating their dinner when I passed by them and up the stairs.

Our house was weird by the way. The dining room was also the living room and also also right in front of the door when you enter the house. The stairs were to the right of the entrance as well and anyone standing by the door could easily look into the dark abyss that was up the stairs.

I used to shiver at the thought of just standing by the door and looking up at the stairs seeing Dee pop out of the darkness. And that boy loved popping out of dark places.

I raced up the stairs and changed into my PJs then went back down to the dining room and sat right next to Dee.

"Hey!" I greeted no one in particular. All three of them greeted me back with low mumbles. Dee was on his phone, dad was reading some article on the internet, probably, and mum was just looking at the blank screen of the TV.

"Yo, Clumsy, how was the game?" Dee asked suddenly, smirking, showing off his abnormally sharp canines.

"Um... Good," I replied. "And don't call me Clumsy."

Dee put down his phone gently on the table and intertwined his fingers. He leaned on the table with his chin resting on his closed fists and his straight dark black hair flopping over his ears. Our whole family had that signature head of hair. "You know, the game was being aired live and I saw someone I know on the jumbotron..."

I gulped. "Well, good for them I guess-"

"Yeah, and the person that kissed them too."

My eyes shot daggers at Dee and I clenched my teeth together. I kicked him on the shins under the table and eyed mum and dad briefly.

"I'm not hearing silence," dad said absent-mindedly with his eyes still glued to his iPad.

"Sorry dad, Dee was just being annoying-"

"No! I was being curious."

"Curiosity killed the cat, so stop it idiot! Before I murder you."

Dee gave me a forced smile and kicked blindly at the air under the table. Next thing I knew, I heard mum scream shortly and dad sighed.

"Okay, who kicked your mother?"

"Dee!"

"Oh yeah, snitch on me why don't you?"

"Enough!" Mum screamed, making all of us stare at her in silence. "You know perfectly well that dinner-time is for eating and family socialization. Not kicking under the table or death threats. Now, it's time for dinner."

Dee and I looked at each other for a while exchanging profanities with just our eyes. Then, we just started to laugh quietly and simultaneously.

"Gosh, you're so annoying."

Dee took back his phone in his hand and shrugged. "Oh, I know."

FILLER ALERT!

This was a filler and I don't care. Yes, it does nothing to further the plot, but it gives you guys a glimpse into Jamie's home-life and into the personalities of her family members. So, it's not necessarily a filler. Sorry if it was short though.

Anyways, comment, vote, eat a goat and I'll see ya next chap.
