Last night I came home around 10 PM. I stood out late, because I didn't want to have dinner with my dad. I knew that around 10 he would be locked inside his office like always. Madison was already asleep. I'd found her passed out on the couch, the TV was still on but the screen was black. I turned the TV off and carried her up to her bed. She must be really tired. She went to school just like me,but she had to handle a bunch of kids who weren't giving her the respect she deserves, she had to put on with my dad, while she was mad at him too and then she had to call me because dad asked her to.

I love my dad,but...as I get older I think...he's not the man I thought he is. Sure he did some bad stuffs in the past. But he changed! For me! For himself! For mom! So why do I feel like he's still the...same? Maybe that's not a bad thing. I mean I've been living with him since my birth,he always loved me and Matthew,he always took care of us and he didn't try to hold mom back from what she wanted for years. He let Madison into our life and we managed to live happily together. He works every day so I can have a good life. He never asked a thing for me. He isn't selfish. He doesn't have obsessions. He doesn't have any problems. He just has a rough past and did some stupid things. Shit happens! We just gotta get over it! If I could do that, why can't other people?
Right now the only selfish person here is me. He does everything to make me happy, but I can't expect everything from him. He's human after all. He just turned out to be a better one than other people.

The next morning came soon and I wasn't ready yet. Yesterday had worn me out. I got out of my bed and did my daily routine. I took a shower. I got changed. I grabbed Shannon's shirt. And right now I'm heading down to the kitchen to eat breakfast with Madison. Dad wasn't home. I assumed he went to work earlier. I was used of his lack of presence. So why do I feel it stronger now? I found Madison leaning against the counter, deep in her thoughts. She didn't seem to notice me yet. I walked over to the coffee machine and made myself some coffee. I didn't want to snap Madison out of her thoughts, she always had a beautiful mind. Whenever she was deep in her thoughts like this, something magically would be born. Mom always said not only her look is beautiful, but he mind too. So I never bothered her. I just sit down and stared at her, I was waiting for her eyes to glint in mischief and happiness like stars. That's what I was doing. I waited and waited. My mug was half empty when she finally moved her fingers. I looked at her. Her eyes weren't shining...they were sad and dark. Something isn't right. Madison noticed me and smiled at me weakly.

"Morning."I greeted her and took another sip of my coffee before putting it in to the sink.

"Good morning, Riley."she replied and relaxed her body, which was tense this whole time."Thanks for taking me to my room last night."She added. I just nodded and walked to the living room. I only noticed it now,but the TV's screen was shattered. There was a broken DVD on the floor and a broken vase next to it. I looked at it horror. What the hell happened here!? And why am  only noticing this now?! I walked through the living room! I guess you could also drop a nuke bomb next to me and  wouldn't even flinch by it.
"You noticed it,huh?"I jumped when I heard Madison behind me. I turned to face her. She looked tired, sad, lost, pain and guilty. What's wrong?

"W-what happened?"I asked after a moment of silence. Madison just shook her head.

"I wanted to put that vase to the other shelf, but I stopped onto that DVD and hurt my feet. I lost my balance and the vase hit the TV. The screen shattered and the vase hit the floor."She explained. She hid her left arm behind her back. Is she lying? No. Why would Madison lie about something like this? She got nothing to hide. I'm still dreaming random things. I nodded at her explanation.
