Chapter 20: I Did Something Bad

"Wisdom? Okay..."

Robert looked in my direction, and was about to press the trigger for my shock collar, but before he could it instantaneously disconnected, causing it to drop to the floor.

"Oh, fuck you Tisinectr," Robert and Cooper said in unison.

"No, fuck you! Why are you doing all of this? You used to be a good person!"

"I've never been good."

"Your purposes were! Sure, you massacred the entire Monen species, but you did that to save the Grim Reapers."

"Demon," Steve translated.

"And you may have killed the other Veset Leadyn Nims except for your brother Natam, but you did that because you knew they were evil."

"Seven Deadly Sins and Satan," Steve added.

"No, I did it because I was an idiot, and couldn't come to terms with who I was."

Josh facepalmed himself before saying "What do you mean?! What did Meni show you?"

Before anybody could say anything else, Robert and Cooper merged into Knightmare, and he grabbed Josh by the throat and lifted him into the air.

"I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU NEVER TO MENTION HER!"

Using the distraction, I went to Steve and attempted to free him from the guillotine. While I did so, I whispered to him him "So, what does that last one translate to?"

"Time," Steve whispered back. "I believe, at least for Wisdom, Satan, and Time, those Grim Reapers' names symbolize their powers."

"That's true. Carnage told me Satan was a leader for a species called Demons," Rowan added.

I looked at Rowan, confused, before asking "Who's Carnage?"

"That's a long story. I'll tell you about that later."

I looked up, and saw Josh and Knightmare were levitating in the air as they traded blows. At one point, Knightmare transformed into a bat to avoid one of Josh's attacks.

"What was that," I said before finally freeing Steve and heading to free Samantha.

After a moment, Rowan explained "Fear said that's from Knightmare taking the power from the other Seven Deadly Sins, other than his brother."

"Their names were Endigom, Mozben, Thwin, Rewefoln, and Mavrine."

Translating the names, Steve said "Wendigo, Zombie, Witch, Werewolf, and Vampire. Knightmare probably got the bat ability from Vampire."

"Okay," I said as I analyzed the handcuffs on Samantha, realizing there was a small tube going from the cuffs to her skin.

I looked back at Steve, and he was holding his hands out. A couple seconds later, his broken and non-broken swords came to his hands, and soon after his suit's nanotechnology came back to him.

"Y'know, I could've teleported your equipment here," Rowan suggested.

"No time to talk about that," Steve replied.

"Are you mad at me?"

"No, honestly. There's just no point in arguing right now since we're about to go into a battle."

"Fair," Rowan said before I asked Steve "Hey, I think I need your help."

After putting his equipment back in place, Steve went to Samantha and I, analyzing the handcuffs.

"Something's being injected into her bloodstream," I said.

"No, nothing's being injected... the needle is preventing adrenaline from entering her bloodstream. It prevents her from getting angry."
