Meanwhile, somewhere in Washington D.C.

I sat in a waiting chair sitting in front of the wall next to the door of Robert's office, waiting for his meeting with Rowan to finish.

I had been waiting a while, and the receptionist noticed. Eventually, she said "You know you can wait in your room or something else and when Robert's done you can teleport back here?"

"Shut up before I impale you on a school flag pole," I replied threateningly.

The receptionist immediately shut up and tried to keep from being noticeable out of fear.

So, are we gonna talk about what happened, Hope asked.

...

No.

Rowan exited Robert's office, stopped for a moment and looked at me, then headed to the elevator, his back hunched the whole way.

"Alright, Sammy girl. It's time for your appointment," Robert joked from his intercom.

I got up, then went into his office. I was immediately greeted by a throwing knife whizzing past me, barely getting past the closing automatic doors, and barely not slitting the throat of the receptionist.

"So," Roberts began, no anger in his voice.

"Can you care to explain to me why my supplies never arrived at their destination?"

"I was intercepted, sir. By Steve Berkan, and what I think was a recruit."

"I trained you specifically to fight the likes of Steve. So, stop giving excuse and give me the real reason."

"I... got distracted."

"Oh, Samantha. Tsk, Tsk, Tsk. What will I say to the base those supplies were for? That my BEST warrior was DISTRACTED?!"

I flinched both time she yelled, hoping he wouldn't punish me. I couldn't go back there again. I couldn't.

Robert walked up to me and placed his hand on my cheek. I moved my head away to get his hand off my cheek, before he said calmly "You know, I may just have to punish you for this."

"No, please! Anything but that," I tried yelled, but it was too late. Black tendrils wrapped around me, covering my entire body, and transporting me to the worst place in existence. The place below the Knightmare realm.

When I was finished being transported and the tendrils released me, I looked down at my arms, and saw they were normal.

I was then greeted by the sight of every single man involved in my kidnapping and torture as a child standing in a circle around me, with Robert sitting on a throne behind the circle.

The circle slowly approached me, all of them smiling deviously at me. As they came closer, they each started saying different things to me, over and over.

"Monster."

"Weakling."

"Unlovable."

"Coward."

"Menace."

"Unforgivable."

"Loner."

"Animal."

Once the circle was close enough, five of them began tearing my limbs off, launching a huge wave of pain through my body. After they were done, the sixth person attached robotic replacements for each removed limb, which were even more painful being inserted than it was to lose my limbs.

Once he was done, he pressed a button on a gauntlet on his wrist, which caused an eruption of green and blue electricity that electrified each of my limbs, and elevating my level of pain by hundreds.

Once the electricity disappeared, the circle of men transformed into the liquid-like gases from Knightmare's body, and sank into the ground, Robert still remaining in his throne.

Then, a mirror appeared in front of me, so looked into it. My reflection was of a grotesque, horrifying, monstrous thing.

I turned around, and saw I was now in a city, and people were running away from me and screaming. I tried running after them to prove I was worth loving, but that only caused the civilians to run faster and scream louder.

As I tried getting closer and closer, the screaming got too loud for my ears to handle, and they began bleeding with pain. I dropped to the ground, kneeling as I tried covering my ears to block out the terror from the civilians.

Then, the screaming stopped, and I saw the city and civilians had disappeared. I thought then that it was done, but I was wrong. Soon after, the blond man I saw at the ravine was towering over me, and he said just four words that I thought I had already accepted long ago, but yet they still hurt me more than anything.

"You'll never earn peace."

1 of 7 pure terrors unlocked(not counting Rowan's, since y'all haven't seen it yet).
