The Death of a Little-known Legend

She lies still,

Unmoving,

In the light of the glistening moon.

The wind and the water are quiet for her.

The earth cannot bear that she

Will not be with them much longer.

Her only condolence

Is that she will be the dying girl's

Final bed.

Departing, she gives one last smile to the world

Who has been so unkind.

And her last breath,

Like few, is a sigh of relief.

"remember me when I'm gone"

she whispers.

"But please move on.

I wasn't made for this world, my dears,

So do not cry.

Instead, simply look to the stars,

And whisper goodbye."
