Because of my family,
And the damage that ensues from them,
I have my own.
A chosen family.
Of my new family, only my sister is blood related.
The rest are others who I truly love.
My friends, Stephanie and Caleigh.
Stephanie, who I can be myself with.
Caleigh, whose family brings me to the beach every New Year's Day,
and call me "An honorary one of them"
Then, of course,
There are fictional characters.
The list goes on and on.
I have my own characters too.
They are lucky-
They live the life I wish I had.
I love my chosen family.
Because they love me back
