Falling deep into a rabbit hole of corporate importance and pending lawsuits, I delved into my workaholic persona. I'd like to believe she means well and that all she's doing is keeping my head away from the guillotine of reality yet as I proceed I realise that I was holding the blade the whole time.

Unashamedly burnt out, I now find myself amidst London's ever-growing traffic congestion mid-day and a stressful phone call to the rest of my team.

"Levi, I'll be there in like five minutes when these damn cars start moving. Do you think you can handle the arrangements and speak to Mr Hayes?" I say, pushing the horn whilst some angry Cockney driver glared at me.

"Well considering the first thing he asked was for you I'm guessing he wants you here?" He answers and I groan. "Look, don't worry. I don't think he's impatient or anything. We're handling the prep and the rest of the caterers are here. We've already spoken to them and everything is okay. The only problem is the linens which you have. Other than that, just focus on getting here?"

"Did the setup team Lexi employed get there?" I asked.

"Yeah, they're helping with the assembly down at the reception. The expert team and I are at the main."

"Great, I'll be there soon. Thanks, Levi,"

I run my hand through my hair, rethinking every decision I had made up until this moment. Clearly, I was drowning too much to a point where I didn't realise how fast a month could come around the corner.

With the other appellants being quiet and my lawyers being very diligent—that had become the least of my problems really. Yet without that levelling, I was left in the office honing in on clients and even starting a negotiation deal to branch out to Leicester. All that on top of the constant designing and arranging and invoices of current clients and customers. Within that month it was as if I was a vampire refusing to see the light of social life.

Lexi and I spoke about nothing more than business deals and negotiations and financial strategies while Ana had gotten a call to produce for a singer all the way from the US which meant our times of communication had become non-existent.

Easily comparable to where we were about a month ago, one would think years had passed.

By the time I reached The Kews, the sun was up above, glaring despite weather reports that the first frost would be early in London this year. Once out of sitting, my beige stilettos hit the ground and I almost fell face first only catching myself with a mouthful of slurs. I shook it off...though I doubt there is as much more I could have done.

I grabbed the rolls of ribbons, linens and garments from the back of my car and practically ran my way to the main venue where the sound of drills and machinery hummed to call me.

I heaved with every step but continued nonetheless since who else would be willing to do all this but me.

When I arrived, the first thing that greeted me was the looks of relief from my staff. Levi stepped in with his shirt drenched with sweat that was bleeding through. His thin stature isn't much help either.
