THE CONTRACT ARRANGEMENT

CHAPTER 6

Danna's POV

Standing right outside my bosses office nervously I raised my hand to knock on the door.

I was so nervous,because in order for the plan to work he needed to act his part and I needed to tell him about the plan.

"Come in" he said

I did as I was told standing right infront of him I was mentally debating with myself to go on with this or just drop everything and tell my mom the truth as it is.

"I believe you didn't come here just to stand in front of me and zone out" he said bringing me back to earth

" I'm sorry about that sir,but I need to talk to you it's important and it can't wait" I said in one breath

"I'm listening" he said while leaning back on his chair

"I need you to help me in convincing my mom that all of this is real. I know my mom she won't believe me I'm a bad liar she will immediately see right through me." I said trying my best to not sound nervous

"Listen Miss Rodriguez she's your mom,so you telling me you can't convince your own mother" he said sounding annoyed

I literally regretted coming here to ask him for help

'I'm sorry and forget I asked you to do this" I said standing up just when I was about to walk out the door his voice stopped me

"I'll help you since I pretty much dragged you into this" he said

"Thank you" I said

Today is the day I finally tell my mom about my fake marriage which is literally right around the corner. I finished my work early and went home Mr Mondragon is gonna stop by at six pm that's when he will finally reveal himself to my Mom.

"Mom I'm home" I yelled entering the house

"Honey you home early, what happened"? she asked

"Well I finished my work early today mom and besides I need to talk to you it's important I just hope you can try your best to stay calm" I said

"Oh sweetie you scaring me,come here" she said taking my hand leading me to the living room so we can sit down

"I'm getting married in two weeks" I said in one breath I was so terrified of her reaction, but deep down if I'm being honest I wouldn't blame her I've never dated before and she knows that so me dropping this bomb shell on her will definitely shock her

"What do you mean you getting married, you don't have a boyfriend not that I know of" she said trying her best to stay calm I could sense it

"Well mom I do have a boyfriend, and Isabella is the person who knew about it and please don't be mad at her I asked her more like begged her to keep it a secret because I knew how you would react"

"We started dating a year ago and since he's a well known person we have been keeping our relationship a secret. Two days ago he proposed to me and I said yes I love him mom and I hope you try to accept him" I said I hated lying to my mom it makes me a horrible daughter,but I had to do this

"I want to meet him today" she said with a tone that left no room for argument

" He will be here at six pm" I said

There's nothing I want more the most then to see my mom living a happy stressful life. I just know that if she were to find about the loan I took from the bank,she would start blaming herself for everything and that's the last thing I want.

At this point I'm no different from a gold digger since I agreed to all of this because of money I felt disgusted of myself.

That's why I have decided that I will not take the two million that I will be paid after two years. Him paying my pending debts is more then enough for me I can't accept such a huge sum of money. But that's something I'll tell him the day we sign the divorce papers.

The door bell bought me out of my thoughts, making my way to check who it is I saw that my mom had beat to it.

Standing there all tall and mighty was Mr Mondragon my boss holding a box of chocolate and flowers.

"Wait a minute so the person you getting married to is your boss" mom said sounding shocked

"Uhm yes" my voice was so low I could barely hear myself

"Good afternoon Miss Rodriguez I feel honored being in your presence" he said giving my mom the flowers and chocolates I'm glad she accepted them

What good actor he is I mentally said to myself

"Where are my manners come on in dear don't just stand there" she said

"Thank you" he said while closing the door behind him

Making our way to the living room I was so nervous because of our close proximity. This is the very first time we have ever been this close and I was uncomfortable, but I tried best to maintain my posture. My mom's gaze was fixed on us which made me feel nervous I guess I'm gonna be battling with my nerves for the two upcoming hours.

"So Mr Mondragon why would a man like you who's rich I don't mean this in a bad way, but a man like you could get any woman that you lay your eyes on  especially a woman who is on your level why my baby girl" my mom asked one would be shocked why she asked something like that,but I know why she is testing him

And a part of me knows he's going to past the test.
