"I know your stupid ass did not drag me out of my house at 9pm to come back to the barbershop."  Alondra groaned.  "And why am I here?  You interrupted my Netflix."

Shawn looked at Alondra through the rear view mirror and slightly squinted his eyes.  "You know, one day I'm going to finally strangle you."

Under her breath, Alondra murmured, "Kinky."  The closer they got to the shop, she realized there were two people standing outside of it.  All she was hoping for was that this was not gang related.  When they got close enough, Alondra could see that it was Spencer on the sidewalk. Once the car stopped, she jumped out to go hug him. "Woah, why are y'all together?"

"I don't know, his stupid ass always drags me out of my house." Alondra responded.  "Sup, white boy."

"It's Asher."

Alondra just nodded her head and unwrapped her arms from Spencer, standing between him and Shawn. "When Coop called, I thought, 'Nah. She playing. Spencer James don't need anybody's help.' But here you are."

"Here I am."

"I know this is hard for you, but I'ma need you to say it, because we equals now. Say it. You. Need. Me."

Alondra and Asher could physically feel the tension rising and looked between Spencer and Shawn. "I need you, Shawn."

Shawn nodded with a smug smile, borderline smirk, on his face. "I made some calls, but no one in my crew has it. But you can't boost a car that pretty and not be running your mouth about it."

"So you know where it is?"

"Let's take a ride."  Shawn nudged his head to the car, but then stopped Asher.  "Just Spence.  Alo, you wanna come?"

"No, I'm gonna raid Alvin's snacks." With that, Alondra walked into the barbershop and greeted Coop. "Yo, white boy's kinda cute."

"Man, you think every breathing teenage boy is cute."

"No I don't. Shawn looks like a fungus."

"Maya, you're supposed to teach your dad how to dance." Alondra said.

Putting her hands on her hips, Maya looked up at Alondra with stress written all over her baby face. "I tried to like you showed me, but he won't get it." She pouted.

"Now, I know y'all ain't trash talking my dance skills." Shawn announced. "I'm not that bad."

"I've been trying to teach you Bachata for the past two years. Maya already learned it." Alondra point out.

"It's easy!" She cheered.

Alondra looked to Shawn with a pointed look, but all he did was smack his lips and shake his head. "I don't need to know how to dance. I got other problems."

"That's exactly why you need to know how to dance! Dancing releases endorphins and makes you a happier person. Psychological effects of music, dude. Plus, you need some happiness in your life other than Maya."  Alondra stated, looking over to his daughter who was now drinking out of her sippy cup at the coffee table.  "It's not even that bad.  You're just too stiff, and you step on my toes."

"I'm not stiff."

"Yes you are.  Your guard is always up, and you're always ready for a fight, but you need to relax and loosen up if you're gonna dance Bachata."  Alondra explained.  She pressed play on her phone and the tune of Morir Solo by Prince Royce started playing.  "Vamos a hacerlo."

"Right now?"

"Yes, right now. You learning is long overdue.  Do you know how sad it is that your daughter learned faster than you?" Alondra was waving him over, so with a displeased groan, Shawn got off the couch and went to stand in front of her.  He threw his hands up, not knowing what he was supposed to do.

Alondra just started with the footwork since Shawn was blessed with 2 left ones. By the time he got that part down, Maya was dancing beside them with her teddy bear in her hands. The next part was the hip movements, which Shawn struggled with for some reason.  It didn't make sense to her because he made a whole child, but she wasn't going to bring it up. Alondra had a whole playlist playing, and by the time Shawn started getting it, it was near the end.

A song from Aventura was playing and Alondra was getting spun around the living room while Maya was trying to watch TV.  "Was that so hard, cabrón?"

"I still don't understand why I had to that."

"Me neither.  But with my brothers gone, I need someone to go to the bailes with."
