"Ok remember princess, today we're looking for allies, people we know we can trust" Flynn tells me "I already know who but I got it" I smile
I watch one by one as I pass each person. Watching them train, throw knifes and spears. Then I look to my left to see Beetee and Wiress learning how to start a fire
I walk over to them as I hear Beetee talking "Heat generations fire. In theory-" he says but I cut him off "You should move your hands downward. And, faster too" I tell him as I sit down They both look at me before he does what I told him He does it a few more times before it starts to smoke "A little brute force-" Wiress says "Is always helpful" Beetee finishes for her "Thank you" Beetee tells me "Yeah" I smile "By the corner of the table" Wiress says looking up Then Beetee lifts his glasses some. I turn to look as well until I see what they are talking about "A force field" I say "The shimmering you can see it?" Beetee asks me "Yeah, top left hand side" I tell him "Exactly" he smiles "To separate us from them" Wiress says "Probably mine and Kattnis' fault. I threw a knife at them last time, and Kattnis shot a arrow" I shrug "Look around. The lights and the holograms flicker every once in a while, why?" Beetee asks me "Because the force field is taking up to much energy" I answer "Always a flaw in the system" Beetee laughs I nod then get up and make my way to mags
"Mags" I smile She looks up and smiles at me before giving me a hug "Can you teach me how to make the fish hook? I could teach you how to use a weapon after" I tell her, she shakes her head yes in response before showing me how to make it
"What do you want me to show you?" I ask her She looks at the weapons before pointing at a bow and arrow "This?" I ask making sure I was right and she shakes her head yes "Ok" I smile before stepping onto the platform I watch as the lasers light up before holograms start to appear.
One by one they run at me as I hit each one within seconds. I hit the last one then the lights dim down. "Oh how I wish I had this in my games" I mumble thinking about how much easier it could've been I turn to look back at mags only to see almost every tribute standing there watching. And Wiress clapping
"Good news. Basically half the tributes want you guys as an ally" Roman says walking in "They all saw her shoot" Flynn tells him "Well then Evelyn it's your pick" Roman says "I want Wiress and Beetee" I tell him "Ok who else?" Roman asks "Mags" I tell him and Roman looks at me in horror "Listen, I know Finnicks on our side. I've known him since we won our games. I also know him enough to know he's going to be allies with Kattnis and Peeta. So therefore they are on our side. Johanna hates every other tribute besides the people I just named so if she sees any of them she won't attack she'll join us. People will think we will only have the 'weak' ones to start off, mind games Roman " I tell him "Flynn?" Roman asks him Flynn looks at me before looking back at Roman "I trust her" he nods and Roman walks out
We all sit in a small room waiting for our names to be called. One by one they each get called. And of course, I was the very last one to go "District 12, Evelyn Lily. Report for individual assessments" I hear
I walk in and slow down when I reach the middle. I look down to see a painting of Camilla with flowers around her. I stare at the painting trying to keep my tears down. "Miss Lily!" I hear someone say snapping me out of my thoughts I finally look up at them "You have 10 minutes to present your chosen skill" he tells me an idea pops into my head
I quickly start to put things together. I grab a dummy, rope, and red berries to use to write words
I tie the rope around the dummy and lift it up. Then I tie the end of the rope to the table.
I look at my dummy with the words "Seneca Crane" written on it I give them my bow then walk out.
"Evelyn honey. Before you see the dress I need you to know something about it" she tells me "What is it?" I ask her "You and Kattnis have the same dress, a couple things are different but it's the same idea. But I just need you to trust me on this ok?" She tells me "I trust you just- don't let me down" I tell her "Never" she smiles
As I got ready I watched each tribute say something that would hopefully get president snow to stop the games. I know he won't, no matter what anyone says, the games will always go on. "Am I twirling tonight?" I ask her "Save it for the end. But Evelyn. You have to do something first" she tells me "And what is that?" I ask her "Invite Kattnis Everdeen onto the stage. You will twirl together, it will send a message" she tells me and I just nod in response
As I wait for my name to be called Johanna walks up to me "Really Evelyn a wedding dress?" She asks me "Don't worry Johanna, there's a whole plan to it" I smirk "Well whatever it is. Make him pay" she smiles
"And now, the victor of the 67th hunger games! Evelyn Lily!!" Caesar cheers The curtains open up and I walk out Smiling wide while I wave
"Evelyn Lily you look fabulous! Doesn't she?" He asks the crowd "You look mighty fine yourself tonight Caesar" I smile "Thank you thank you! My my whoo whoo" he laughs "Now Evelyn, this is, a very big and emotional night for all of us. Wouldn't you say?" He asks me "Oh don't start crying on me now Caesar!" I tell him "I can't make any promises you know me!" He laughs "Well then I'm asking you not to cry, because if you cry , I'll cry! And I can't go messing up my makeup now can I?" I laugh "Haha yes! I love her! This girl is filled with spirit!" He smiles and a flash of my dad flys through my head
"Now Evelyn on a serious note, how does it feel to be going back in the games?" He asks me "Well Caesar, I can't say I'm happy because that would be a lie. I fought hard in my games, I left every bit of myself out there. And to be honest I thought I was finally becoming myself again until I heard my name reaped once more. If I could do anything to stop these games, even if it means I'd have to give my life so the rest of the tributes would live, I would do it" I tell him "Oh how emotional. Hopefully the people have heard the words you just spoke. But our time is coming to an end. Would you mind giving us a little spin of your dress before you go?" Caesar asks me "I'd love to on one condition" I tell him "What is that?" He asks "That you would allow Kattnis Everdeen to come onto the stage" I tell him "Well that's something new! Yes yes someone bring Kattnis out here!" He says
She walks out onto the stage and stands next to me. "Ready?" I ask her, she gives me a slight nod before he both start to spin.
As we spin each of our dresses catch on fire. The wedding dress slowly burns away to reveal Kattnis' black dress and my gold one. "Oh my God!!" Caesar yells We both lift out our hands and wings spread across. "It's like a bird. It's like a- a- a bird" he says again trying to figure out which bird "Like a mockingjay" Kattnis tells him "Wow your stylist certainly out did their selves this time!" He cheers
Kattnis and I both take our place up on the stage with the rest of the tributes. I stand in between Flynn and Kattnis as Peeta is talking to Caesar being the last tribute to go.
Then he does something no one would even think. He tells the crowd Kattnis is pregnant. The entire crowd stands up yelling for the games to be stopped.
Peeta makes his way up to us and he gives Kattnis a hug. All of the tributes start to grab hands as Caesar tries to calm everyone down. We all lift up our hands as the crowd cheers 'stop the games!'
