"What? A what?"

Miyake narrowed his eyes, gently pulling on Hikaru's kimono in order to hold her behind himself protectively, "Onii... demon..."

"A demon? How.. how did you know?" Hikaru asked, her eyes wide as she realizes that she didn't even notice there was a demon around.

Miyake held his hand on his sword, not knowing enough Japanese to tell the young girl, "Quiet."

Hikaru perked a brow, gripping onto her kimono as a dark feeling crept into her small body, she weirdly trusted this man. Hikaru's small hands held onto his sleeve tightly.

A evil aura bled through an old house sat right above the hill, Hikaru's pale eyes widened in horror as she realized that the phantom was coming from her house.

"Tatsuo-San!! That's my house! The demon is in my house!!" Hikaru yelled out, as the sun had set and the aura got dangerously bigger as the moon arose with a mischievous glint.

Miyake looked up above his brow, creasing his eyelid as he rushed forward, leaving Hikaru outside alone. The wind pushed back her long hair while she froze, scared for her family.

Rushing inside the home, Miyake found the children huddled in a corner, a woman shielding them from the horrifying demon. Where was the father?

The demon hissed out a devious laugh, twisting his head around as he saw Miyake's silhouette grazing through the door.

Miyake wasted no time, hurrying forward and slicing the demons neck, he blankly looked at the demon as its head rolled off to the side.

'Upper Moon Six'

Miyake kissed his teeth, "Tsk. How weak, 너희 악마들은 세월이 지을 따라 점점 약해지고 있어요..."

(You demons are getting weaker and weaker as the years go by..)

The demon cried out in anger as Miyake killed him easily, "Pitiful! The slayer! You with the gold eyes!! No one could've beaten you!! Arrogant! Arrogant!"

Miyake stomped on the demons head, shutting him up and speeding up the dying process, blood flowed through the creaks in the wood as the mother slumped down in relief as she held her kids closer.

Miyake frowned, bowing down as his head met the 'dirty' floor, "Gomenasai..."

The woman was crying, she slowly walked away from her kids and dropped in front of the male who had saved her family's life, she hugged him around the neck as she thanked him tremendously.

"Why are you sorry? You saved my family!"

Miyake knelt on his knees, his dark long hair falling down onto the floor majestically as he frowned deeply, "I did not bring Hikaru-San home before dark."

The mother blinked before chuckling and hugging him once again, "Mou... you're so cute! You saved us and protected my Hikaru!"

Miyake tilted his head as he didn't fully understand her Japanese, he nodded respectively.

"Gomenasai... I don't speak much Japanese... where is.. where is the man?"

The woman tilted her head as she realized Miyake was talking of her husband, she let out a hum, "He is sick in the other room, the demon had just arrived as you did.."

Hikaru burst through the door, leaning on the side heaving for oxygen, her hair was messy and her face flushed, "Ah.. Mi-Miyake-Sama!! You.. you defeated the demon so easily! Is everyone okay?!"

The little children, two younger and two older, rushed towards Hikaru and enveloped her in a hug.

Miyake stood up, helping the mother stand as well as she still seemed shaken to the knees, Miyake held up her by her elbow and her side as she smiled at her kids weakly.

"Mm. I see Hikaru is still as healthy as ever. Now, Miyake-San, may we know more about you? The demon slayer that saved our lives?"

One of the youngest kids rushed forward, dark hair and beautifully teal colored eyes, his kimono was soft and warm, he tugged on Miyake's sleeve,
"Will you stay to meet father? Mother can make good food!"

Miyake smiled, brightening up the room immediately as he got down on his knees once again, bowing down, "Gomenasai... I do not understand."

A weak soft pattering of feet made everyone in the house gasp as the door to what Miyake assumed to be the parents bedroom was opened softly.

A man, sick and pale, fragile and weak, stood measly at the door as he gazed at Miyake, "You are... you are the God Hashira... Kanae talks of you most often as does Shinobu.." he hacked out a deadly cough, his wife rushing to his aid.

Miyake stayed on the ground, his forehead sweating as he sadly couldn't understand the man completely, but such a pale and weakened aura made Miyake's bones rattle in sadness.

This man was clearly dying...

Miyake clenched his fists, as the wife tried her best to escort the husband back to his chambers, though he insisted that he should meet with the slayer who saved his family's life as he was on the verge of death.

"Please, Miyake-San, stand."

Miyake stood up at the orders of the husband, bowing his head down, "Gomenasai... I pray for your health..."

The man tilted his head the farthest he could given his weak bones and muscles, in turn, he merely nodded his head, "Ah, thank you. My name is Takumi Ren, my wife is Takumi Himari. The kids go in order from youngest to oldest as Aiko, Zaiko, Hikaru, Ahmya, and Kai."

Miyake nodded, understand the man as he started speaking more slowly, "Ah, I understand. I am Tatsuo Miyake, the God Hashira... I am also a part of a large family. Though, I wish to know more about yours. My letter... I hope you received?"

Ren's eyes widened as he watched an almost silent crow perch on his windowsill, the same crow which delivered money to the family every so often. Large sums of money that inevitably kept them on their feet following Ren's medical bills and their house.

Himari gasped, her pale hand covering her mouth as she recognized the golden lint that strung itself around the crow's feet, "You've... you're the one who's been sending us all those gifts and money! And now you've saved our lives! Oh my..."

"Ah! Mom! Don't faint while there is a guest here!"

"Would you hush, Hikaru! Your dirty kimono is tracking dirt into my house, not to mention the blood now on the floor, and your hair! Filthy."

Miyake got back down on his knees, clasping his hands in front of him as his forehead once again met the ground, "Gomenasai... I have dirtied your house, allow me to help clean."

"Oh no! Now look, Hikaru! You've caused our savior and guest to worry! Are you going to make him clean all by himself?"

Hikaru deadpanned, tidying her hair as much as she could with her hands from the doorway,

"Uh, yeah?"

Himari gaped, rushing to her daughter who started to pale, "Unforgivable! So disrespectful!!"

"Ahh!!! MIYAKE-SAN HELP!"

"Gomenasai.."
