3 months later...

"Welcome to the south!"

"You really love this place?"

"Yes, and I also hate it."I laughed the sad memory off.

We arrived at our destination, faster than we expected. We're now standing in front of a massive house.

"This is a nice house," Rai commented.

"This is my grandparents'. Nico said that we used to visit them here every summer."

"We're visiting them now," Rai said, enveloping her arm to my shoulder.

We grabbed our bags and placed them next to the door.

"So Ben suggested me this place where we'll get to meet the child."

"We're going there tomorrow?"

"Yes, now we need to rest and prepare for tomorrow, alright love?"

"I agree." I booked her nose and kissed her lips tenderly.

Who knew that the "Rest" will turn into a make-out session.

The next day...

"Thank you for visiting us, your highness."

"It's our pleasure. Anyway, where are the kids?" Rai asked.

"Oh, they're in that room."

Miss Georgina led the way. We stopped in front of a pink painted door.

"We need to be quiet, some of them are sleeping."

When she opened the door, no they're not sleeping.

"Oops." Miss Georgina laughed.

"Kids! The princess is here!"

The kids grew quiet and swiftly went in front of us.

"Your highness." They all said in unison.

"It's highness." Rai corrected.

"Rai." I eyed her, warning her to not continue.

"You may continue what you're doing kids," I said, making them play everywhere.

"These kids may be tough sometimes, especially Joanna and Fae. That kid over there is Hanna, she's the most brilliant kid here." She pointed at the girl who is trying to teach a girl how to say 'Highness.'

"Who's that?" Rai pointed to the girl sleeping on the bed.

"Oh, that's Jamie. What can I say about her..." Miss Georgina stared at her and thought.

"I can say that she's the most warmhearted of them all although she gets sick and weak most of the time."

We went near her bed and we saw that her eyes are wide open, she's awake.

"Does she know that we're here?" I asked.

"She does, but Jamie can't speak."

"When she was 3, we found her at this park with no parents. We asked her if she's alone, she nods her head. Then we asked the name of her parents, she grew silent."

"We asked her for the second time and this time, she did a gesture with her hands where she asked for a paper and pen. That's when my partner knew that she...can't speak."

"What happened to the parents?"

"When we called the number, it led us
to a person who said that her parents died that day." Miss Georgina continued.

Jamie blocked her ears by using her hands.

Rai gently took Jamie's hands from her ears, making Jamie face us entirely.

Her eyes widen when she realizes who we are. So, she jumped out of the bed and went to bow down to the ground.

"Hey hey hey, stand up. It's okay Jamie." I said.

Jamie smiled and went back to her bed to read a book.

Rai approached her and asked what the book is all about.

Jamie pointed the title, making Rai laugh at her own silliness.

Then miss Georgina called for my attention.

"Princess Nikole, let's arrange the papers."

Before going outside the room, I looked back at the two having a bond together.

She's the one.

...

"This will be your room, for now," I said.

Jamie walked around the room and admired its every design.

Jamie wrote something on the notepad that we gave to her. Since we don't know anything about sign language yet.

"Do I call you mother or mom?" She wrote.

"You can call me Mom while you can call your other mom Mother." I ruffled her hair.

She laughed, although she can't speak, she can still make some little noises.

"Hey, the food's ready," Rai said.

"You go there first okay?" I said to Jamie.

She happily nodded and left the room.

"She's not bad," Rai said.

"The kid's adorable and brilliant like you," I said.

"Awe."

When we're about to kiss, we heard a small knock. It's Jamie folding her arms and huffing.

"Yep, to the kitchen." Rai patted Jamie's head and went downstairs.

I held out my hand for Jamie to take, she gracefully took it and we made our way downstairs.

"Have a seat," Rai said.

"Jamie, how old are you?"

Jamie brought out 5 fingers which means that she's 5 years old.

"Do you want to attend school?" This time it was me who asked her.

She continuously nodded.

"Aye captain! That's the first thing we're going to arrange when we arrive at the palace."

In the mention of the palace, Jamie made some happy noises and ate her food.
