Aishah

I ENTERED A taxi to the motor park,I look around not sure of what to do and won't lie when I say I'm paranoid, I'm still scared of being caught and I feel bad about the way I left Abubakar without saying goodbye,I look around and found a woman likely on her mid thirty and walk up to her

"Salam Aleikum, excuse me ma"I said and she acknowledged me

"Waleikum salam, what can I do for you?"she asked

"I wanted to ask which state is the farthest state from Zaria that the park is going to?"I asked and she looked at me warily before answering

"I don't know but I know Lagos is far enough"she said and I nodded thanking her

I have never been to Lagos or know how the state looks but I'm sure of one thing the way they run things there is different from the way things are run here in Zaria,I thanked her one more time before walking away

I went to the bus that's taken people going to Lagos and paid,I was scared of this decision I decided to take and I pray I don't regret it,I don't have enough to sustain me but I wasn't ready to give up,I'm tired of my life here in Zaria and I want to make a change, a difference in my life

Thirty minutes later, the bus was ready to take off,the driver ignited the engines and I look around one last time cause I'm not sure when I will be returning to this land,a tear escaped my eyes and I started missing Fareedah,I missed everyone including my dead parents and children and I remembered how my life use to be before Ibrahim came into the picture

Things weren't perfect but it wasn't this worse,I swallowed hard and a look of determination pass through me,I shouldn't give up and keep on believing

***************

I slept mostly throughout the ride,it was a long and tiring ride,I wouldn't lie Lagos was really far from Zaria and I'm happy I'm many miles away from Ibrahim and my problems there,I read the signboard above reading welcome to Lagos and I knew things had changed and there's no going back

The city was crowded with lot of people, the first thing I noticed is the way the people of Lagos dressed, their dressing is different from people of Zaria, people walk on trousers short tops bumshorts and didn't mind covering their hairs.

I smiled and think about Nigeria and their cultural diversity,I'm not the type to judge people so I knew one way or the other I will survive here,I hope

The bus stopped at the park and we all came down, hawkers came running after us asking us to buy something speaking languages I don't understand but I know it's called Yoruba, this people definitely look different from mine,I went to grab my little bag and started walking away

I look around and I know I was lost, where am I going to sleep or how do I locate a cheap hotel because looking around everywhere it doesn't seems there's anything cheap here

Busses coloured yellow were busy passing some shouting osho osho osho Ikeja Ikeja Ikeja,I'm dump and I don't understand all those and I'm confused

I saw people climbing the one shouting Ikeja Ikeja Ikeja and I followed and entered,I knew this is going to be tough for me and I need to survive it

Thirty minutes later the bus finally stopped and we all went down and I also noticed how bad the traffic is,this is different from Zaria not that we don't have traffic holds in Zaria but not this bad to the extent I got tired of sitting in the bus but others beside me looks okay like it was part of their daily life
