We sat down and spoke to Joey's mother about our little 2-day vacation.

"Oh my that place seems so beautiful," she said pouring us some tea.

"It sure is!" I said smiling

"Could I ask you something Dime?" She said gently

"Sure!"

"Well I'm sure you heard already about Joey and when he was younger he went to your parent's estate. Well I just want to say at that time Joey was being looked after by his Aunt and Uncle for a few months because we were away on a business trip " she took a deep breath and held onto her cup tightly

"They wanted to get him married off but what they had in mind was disgusting because the person he was supposedly supposed to marry was his aunt and uncle's daughter" She shook her head in disappointment

"This means Joey's cousin was supposed to marry him. After Joey's father and I found out we shunned them from the family but..." She looked deeply into Joeys eyes

"But Joey being the kind soul he is, he let them back into our family. A lot of people want to join the Houston family and they think the best way is by marrying the heir.". She sighed deeply then continued

"I know you are the one for him because when you met him before you saw him as a normal boy and nothing else." She smiled then said:

"That's why he fell for you" she had a tear in her eye then quickly wiped it away.

Joey walked over to her to comfort her and so did I.

"Oh my don't mind me I'm just glad my little baby boy isn't a loner any more" she chuckled then smiled

I couldn't help but see that she resembled my mother a lot. I wanted to ask her some questions but I felt shy. Joey moved back to where he sat reading some papers leaving me and his mother here.

"Uhm c-can I ask you a question about my mother Auntie?" I said nervously

"Of course but you can call me mother now that you have married Joey." She smiles and held my hand

"Ok! Well, what was my mother like?" I said smiling

"Oh she was the sweetest, however, she was extremely shy. Your mother wouldn't but a fly. But then again she fell for the wrong man. I knew she loved him but I don't know this is what would have happened."

"She was such a free spirit and when she wanted something she had to have it. Just like you".I giggled

" I'm pretty sure your father would have blamed you for everything. It's because you have a spitting image of her. I knew you were her daughter as soon as I saw you."

We talked a lot about my mother and I felt so happy knowing she was a happy person.

"Oh yes I forgot to mention to you two that your father and I want to invite you to dinner," his mother said happily

But I wasn't happy at all.
