Chapter - 17: Sensing

Jungkook's POV
As the scent of another Alpha lingered on Taehyung, Jungkook's wolf, Midnight, grew increasingly agitated. Deep within Jungkook's mind, Midnight's growls echoed like thunder, a clear indication of his displeasure.

"What's wrong, Midnight?" Jungkook murmured quietly to himself, feeling the tension building within him.

The wolf's response was immediate, a low and menacing growl that reverberated through Jungkook's consciousness. "That scent... it's not right. It's like someone's marking territory on Taehyung."

Jungkook's brows furrowed in concern as he tried to calm his wolf. "I know, Midnight. But we can't do anything about it. Taehyung is free to spend time with whoever he wants."

Midnight's growls grew louder, filled with frustration and jealousy. "But that person... he's too close. It's like he's trying to claim what's ours."

Jungkook's heart clenched at the possessive tone in Midnight's voice. He understood all too well the primal instincts driving his wolf's reaction, but he also knew that he couldn't let his emotions control him.

"We have to trust Taehyung," Jungkook said firmly, trying to reassure both himself and Midnight. "He knows what he's doing. We can't let jealousy cloud our judgment."

But despite Jungkook's attempts to quell his wolf's agitation, Midnight remained uneasy. The scent of the other Alpha lingered like a ghost, a constant reminder of Taehyung's connection to someone else.

Sitting across from Taehyung, I listened intently as he discussed his ideas for securing the pack borders. His suggestions were practical and well-thought-out, a testament to his leadership abilities. But despite my efforts to focus on the task at hand, my mind kept drifting back to the subtle shift in Taehyung's scent.

Midnight's growls echoed in the recesses of my mind, a constant reminder of his unease. And as I inhaled the faint aroma of cinnamon mixed with Taehyung's familiar vanilla scent, I couldn't help but wonder about the source of the change.

"Jungkook, are you listening?" Taehyung's voice broke through my thoughts, pulling me back to the present.

I nodded quickly, offering a small smile. "Sorry, Taehyung. I got distracted for a moment. Your ideas sound great. I think they'll definitely help strengthen our borders."

Taehyung's eyes softened with understanding, but I could sense a hint of concern in his gaze. He knew me well enough to recognize when something was bothering me, even if I tried to hide it.

As we continued our discussion, my mind raced with questions. Why had Taehyung's scent changed? And who was the other Alpha he had been spending time with?

Midnight's growls grew louder, his instincts warning me of potential danger. But as I analyzed the situation, I realized that the scent of cinnamon was not threatening. It was soothing, almost comforting.

"It's not an Alpha," Midnight whispered in my mind, his voice filled with certainty. "It's just a Beta I think, someone Taehyung trusts."

I took a deep breath, trying to calm the turmoil within me. Midnight was right. There was no need to worry. Taehyung was a capable leader, and he knew how to handle himself.

As the discussion came to a close, I made a mental note to keep an eye on Taehyung's interactions with the Beta. But for now, I would trust in his judgment and focus on leading our pack to prosperity.

With Midnight by my side, I knew we could face whatever challenges lay ahead, together.

In the depths of Jungkook's mind, the struggle between his human self and his wolf raged on. He couldn't deny the pang of jealousy that gnawed at him, but he also knew that he had to trust Taehyung's choices and respect his freedom.
Suddenly, taehyung broached the subject of the upcoming Campfire Party, I could sense a hint of hesitation in his voice.
