The Horrific Present
It's been many years since those incidents in Jin's life. Many things have changed over this amount of time. The people that surrounded him changed, died, or something worse happened. His surroundings also kept on changing, because, well, that's how life is; it keeps on changing without us even realising it. And just like that, Jin changed as well.
Kim Seokjin was a name that was pretty famous amongst most people who worked in the Supreme Court and many other district courts out there. This was because he was a fierce judge who was known all across the legal field. He was one of the youngest justices out there in the country, with a minimum age of only 31. He was an associate judge in the Supreme Court, as mentioned before. He was even popular amongst the public and media for how many people he gave proper justice to.
In the eyes of the media and the public, he was known as the one who shed light on all the corruption held by the higher-ups in politics and the justice field. But well, no one knew how much sin was held behind that innocent mask of his. Jin is rumoured by the people in the industry to be someone who has all the dirty secrets of the corruption of the higher-ups and all the other crimes that are happening inside the field.
That is why he has so many people behind him who keep wanting to associate with him, and Jin obviously knows why. All they want is to have something that will raise their ranks, and Jin was the perfect ace that they could try to aim for, but to their dismay, the fella was 10x more genius than them, meaning that he was instead the one who played with their brains, and if he had the opportunity, then use them as well. That's why he had so many 'friends' and acquaintances.
Recently, in the legal industry, there was a massive scandal that was held against many presiding judges, associate judges, and even the chief justice himself. It was also held slightly against the judicial branch of the government as well.
I won't tell exactly what happened because it's extremely complicated, but let's just say the underdogs got most of the benefit out of it, more like the underdog. Regardless of Jin's rank being below that of the Chief Justice and all the other political figures in the judicial branch of the government, that didn't mean Jin wasn't one of the nine associate justices of the country.
With his brain and power, he did everything that he could to put an end to the scandal and shed light on the injustices that actually happened. The amount of corruption and foul play that had been happening for years was finally revealed, especially by Kim Seokjin himself.
Of course, he was praised by the public and hated by his higher-ups and colleagues out of wrath and jealousy. But who cared? There was still fear in his name for the judicial branch chiefs. And what if I told you Jin had a hand in creating the scandal himself?
