"Jodie... Jodie....JORDYN!" Amika yelled out my name, catching my attention so I quickly looked at her
"Huh?"
"What's going on with you. You been zoning out a lot lately"
I shrugged and went back to eating my frozen yogurt that sat in front of me as we chilled in the food court of the mall
"And wassup with the chocolate ice cream?"
"What?" I asked while shoving a spoonful into my mouth
"Since when did you start eating it? The taste of it used to make you wanna throw up and now you chugging the shit down"
"Well now I gotta taste for it. Shit happens" I shrugged off what she said and resumed eating my ice cream. While I continued peacefully eating my ice cream Amika just looked at me and I tried to ignore it but after a while it was just too aggravating
"What Amika?"
"Are you pregnant?"
I looked at Amika as if she was crazy
"NO!..." I immediately responded and scratched the back of my neck "besides, I already took a pregnancy test before to make sure so I know that's a no"
Once I said that Amika looked as if she was about to get hit by a car or something
"So y'all really are out here fucking?"
"I mean... yeah"
"Jordyn What the fuck! You didn't tell me"
"What was I supposed to say? Oh guess what, me and Kentrell having sex"
"Something would've been better than nothing... are y'all at least using protection?"
"Of course" I sat back in the seat and looked to my left a little "I think"
"You think? As in you don't know. How do you not know?"
"Look we both just get caught in the moment. Especially our first time" I began to chew on my spoon thinking about it. Amika sat up straight and crossed her arms on the table
"Jodie. How many pregnancy test did you take?"
"Just one.. a cheap one I picked up from the dollar store"
Mika slapped her hands down on the table and looked at me "all this money yo rich ass got and you go buy ONE pregnancy test.... from the DOLLAR STORE"
"Well excuse me. I'm not a pregnancy test expert unlike some people"
"We getting you some after we leave here" She sternly told me and I shook my head
"No we ain't"
"YES we are"
"NO we not!"
"No y'all ain't what?" Kentrell's voice spoke out of the blue while he pulled a chair out beside me, taking a seat. Not to long after the rest of the gang joined us at the table
"That's a conversation between me and my best friend sir. So I'd appreciate it if you mind your business"
Kentrell looked at Amika some type of way then looked over at me. He rested his arm on the back of my chair and leaned over to me
"You know what time you coming home yet?" Kentrell asked me which referred to the fact that my mom and I were leaving to go to New York next week for a Gala she has to attend. Kentrell's Birthday is next week as well and luckily we're supposed to come back home on his birthday so I won't miss too much of it.
"Sometime that morning. I know it's gonna be before noon"
Kentrell nodded and Amika just continued to look at me so I turned to Kentrell
"Is she still staring at me?"
"YES I am."
"What y'all got going on?" Kentrell asked with a laugh and Amika crossed her arms
"I don't know. What do we have going on Jordyn?"
"Nothing. I honestly don't even know why she won't stop looking at me like that" I answered to Kentrell while licking the ice cream that was stuck on my spoon and laughed at Amika's face
