PoV Renessme

Today was a cold grey afternoon, forecasted to heavy rain and thunderstorms, it was ironical how the weather outside the window was analogous to how I felt inside, dull and gloomy.

I sat on the seat overlooking the big French window fiddling with a sugar sachet, observing the dark ragged clouds. The quaint café was huddled despondent among the huge city buildings.

Turning my head to the right, I saw how Jayden and Jacobson impatiently waited at the self service counter for our orders.

My heart for once, in a long time, felt at ease here, with them I forgot about the boys. Funnily the aroma that filled my nostrils was that of my grandma's kitchen, the smell that my mind would always associate with me best friends, if it's still safe to call them that.

It was a young girl's wail that got my focus directed to her from the black sky that stood right outside my view.

Sniffing her snort, she tugs on the shirt of her best friend, pointing to a boy not more that five who was dressed in an adorable elephant sweatpant.

"Smits! He pulled my hair and said I'm ugly" she weeps, while her nose is runny.

The best friend of that girl, pulls her protectively behind him and pushes the boy to the ground, "Never hurt her again!" He yells out.

Tears still running down her face, she bawls, "I want mommy Smits!"

Wiping her tears, "Stop crying now Lulu, he won't hurt you again"

With that he the two kids walk outside, leaving the boy bellowing out in pain on the cafe ground, until a waiter runs down to help him.

Despite the crying young child on the floor, I couldn't help but smile down at the whole incident. The boys for most my life had always guarded me from any and every potential danger. But these days? These days our relation seemed strained and strangely distant.

Something is definitely up, ever since the first official party of mine the five have made attempts to cover up something, but what exactly is what I can't put a finger on.

Could it be Jason killed the kid? Really Ren? Sounds far fetched!
Maybe Attrius was busy making out with a guy? But he's always checking out girls, I've heard.
Titus had an embarrassing fall infront of everyone there? That one is just super random now.

Worse would have to be the possibility of how they could be embarrassed of me, it is what I have been dreading, which is why the confrontation hasn't taken place till yet.

But something was different, and only time would reveal what it was.

Jacobson skilfully juggles two huge tray in his arms filled with food, placing them on the table, "So you never answered, you were looking for Professor Hyde and Ms Ryker a while back, what was that all about?"

Gobbling down a bunch of chips, I mumble a muffled, "Stuff."

Giving me a questionable look, "What might this stuff be, elaborate, my dear Queen ?"

Groaning at the pet name he has bestowed upon me, letting it go for now, I huff out; "Well! Peasant if you must know I was planning to finish my senior year abroad."

That only thing that deserved my attention was the buttermilk pancakes, but the exasperated gasp from Jacobson takes away my focus, "Wow! None of us knew that you and the boys wanted to transfer."

Biting into fresh fruits, while shaking my head, I clarify the matter, "Nope, not 'you and the boys,' it's just Me."

He yanks my hand towards him, almost painfully, "Wait! How?...The five are letting you do this?"
