Coach informed us all that we would be going to the mall today as apart of our practice, also mentioning that we were having a new teammate join the team. I didn't really get how we were going to be practicing in a mall until he instructed us to bring our roller skates.

As I got ready for the day, I couldn't help but think about the new member that was joining us, 'Who are they? Are they nice? Are they good at hockey?' I have been curious about the kid all morning. I grabbed my awaiting roller skates before running downstairs, hearing the familiar horn from coaches van honk outside.

"Stay safe girls! Love you!" Mom yelled from the kitchen, Connie came running down the stairs with her roller skates in hand.

"We will, mom! Love you too!" Connie yelled back and we left the house, rushing over into the same van coach used to pick us up in yesterday, I mean it's the only thing that would fit all of us.

This time Guy opened the sliding door to the van, his smile brightening when his eyes laid on Connie, "H-Hey Connie!" The boy stared admiringly at her seeming lost in space, I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

"Move it, lover boy," I teased, pushing past him to sit next to Dave, Charlie and Goldberg in the back, Connie let out a few giggles and followed in behind me, sitting next to Guy.

When I looked towards the head of the van, to my surprise my gaze caught onto the built figure of Fulton Reed sitting on the passenger side, silently watching the scenery out of his window.

Coach turned to Connie and I, "Girls, this is our new teammate!" Fulton slightly turned his head in our direction, not meeting us in the eye. I could tell he was a little nervous but I couldn't blame him, joining a team and meeting a lot of people could be overwhelming.

I smiled, wanting to be welcoming, "Welcome to the team Fulton!" A small smile etched on his face and he grunted in response.

Coach turned back around before taking the van off of park, "Alright, let's get skating!" The boy around me cheered excitedly.

Once everyone piled out of the van, we made our way into the large busy mall. Coach led us to a few open benches to put on our roller skates and safety pads. I finished first and easily stood from the bench, lightly rolling around as I waited for my friends.

Coach and Fulton came by my side, I smiled at them, "Hey Fulton, I'm Kimberly Moreau but you can call me Kimmy!" I held out my hand in front of him, my head tilting up to look at his face.

The tall boy didn't smile this time but put his hand into mine, my hand was much smaller than his, "Yeah, you're in my reading class," I nodded as our hands dropped and the rest of the team skated up to us, ready to skate around the mall.
