LEVI'S POV

As Levi continued to listen to your idea, he felt an immense sense of fear growing inside his chest. A rush-like sensation he hated. He knew you were up to something that could work, your logic made sense somehow in that absolute craziness. He continued to look into your eyes as he noticed you gathering your thoughts. He then figured you were probably terrified as well.

One you finished talking, he felt himself swallow harshly as he grabbed your hand, his fingers intertwining with yours.

'Let's do it' - he said firmly, with that regular assertiveness that usually decorated his monotone tone of voice. 'But before you try that out, there's something I want to you show you' - he broke eye contact with you as he said this, then met your gaze again to check your reaction.

'Mhm?' - you mumbled softly as your eyes widened expectantly.

'I will take you there tonight'.

Hours went by and Levi found himself observing the sun go down one more day. He thought about many things that evening... He wondered how many sunsets he'd witnessed in his lifetime, and how many more he had yet to see. There had always been a part of him who thought about death and how much it terrified him. It was the one thing him and no one else could control, not even the strongest people he knew. Nobody could escape it, yet somehow, he couldn't help but wonder what it'd be like. Not truly desiring to die, just genuinely and curiously terrified of it. Before he could allow himself to fall within his own existential crisis, he felt a warm hand place itself onto his shoulder. Then, he heard a voice.

Your voice.

'Are you ready?' - you asked serenely, slowly placing your body besides his. He nodded firmly, and you both soon began walking toward the camp's entrance.

You had absolutely no idea where you going, but had decided to dress nicely. Levi noticed this. There was something addictive about the way he would inspect your body every time he noticed your clothes and how they fitted your figure. You'd put on the same black dress you wore the night Jelena passed, that night you almost made love to each other for the first time.

Levi was wearing his old, black uniform, since it was freezing that night and it proved to be quite warm. He soon directed you to a horse that had been waiting for both of you, standing still. You widened your gaze in confusion.

'Levi...are you..' - he let out a smirk as you said this to him, then looked intensely into your eyes, not allowing you to finish your sentence.

'I've been practicing. I can manage, don't worry. Now get on the horse' - he demanded in a playful demeanor. You then got on the horse quickly and placed your body onto it to secure your posture. He followed, placing himself in front of you, as he quickly instructed the horse to start galloping. 'Hold on tight' - he said as he looked back into your eye. You then placed both of your arms around his waist, pressing your chest onto his back softly.

The feeling of your skin against his sent shivers down his spine - even if it was freezing out, he could still notice every sensation you'd bring with your touch and closeness. He soon picked up a quick pace, not allowing himself to look back at you, no matter how much he deeply desired to do so.

After around half an hour, you arrived to the spot Levi had been meaning to take you to. He felt the horse slow down as he observed what he had prepared for you that evening - a big tent in the middle of the forest, with a bonfire right outside of the said scene. He had placed a bottle of red wine on top of a small wooden table right outside the tent. As you both got off the horse, Levi observed you, as if trying to get a glimpse of your reaction. How did this even start? - he thought to himself. This...urge, to make you happy. To care for you no matter what. Why was he suddenly doing all of this things for you? Why did he choose to make love to you that night? He had never had such an intense urge to unite his body onto anyone else's before meeting you. But...deep down, he knew it had more to do than the war being over, as there was still chaos surrounding you two, there were still questions to be answered. And still, the sensation he felt around you, the rush that would emerge within his body every time you would touch him...that was even harder to explain or even try to understand.

He then observed you as you widened your waze, slowly inspecting the scene that surrounded both of you. Your eyes traveled through all of the candles that decorated the inside of the tent and the table outside, then placed themselves onto the bonfire and the logs that surrounded it. He watched as you then looked into his eye, slightly frowning in confusion, your lips now parting more than ever.

'Levi...' - you whispered as he observed your eyes water.

There it was - he thought to himself. That expression he craved observing every single day since he'd met you. That naive, innocent, perfect gaze that he had the luck of finding. That's certainly why he had done all of this for you, he knew that. It was all for that look of yours.

He stood in silence, without really emoting any feelings through his expression. His face straight as he observed you getting closer to him, placing his eye onto yours as you grabbed the back of his neck with both of your cold hands. His lips then slightly parted as he continued to look into your eye. A soft smile appearing within your lips.

'This is beautiful. Why...why did you do this?' - you sighed, glancing at the scenery one more time, then returning to his gaze.

'I...I've been meaning to do something special for you. And I wanted to share this with you before you took your necklace off' - he sighed as he said this last thing, a deep frown forming within his eyes.

'Levi...' - he observed you as you caressed his cheek, but before you could say anything else, he continued.

'Don't. We have no idea what will happen after you take off your necklace. Nobody does. I just...needed to share this with you. Nothing is granted' - he felt his facial expression grow stern as he vocalized this, fully convicted of his own thoughts.

You gently caressed his cheeks as you continued to look into his eye deeply, softness decorating your gaze.

'Very well then' - you sighed while slowly bringing your hands onto his chest. 'Shall we open this bottle?' - you grinned at him while grabbing the bottle of wine with both hands. He shook his head in silence, revealing a lazy grin on his lips.
