Training and Settling

Maya and Jacob quickly went to Emily's, where Maya was greeted with a small welcome home party. Leah was even smiling thanks to Maya.
Flashback
Maya was sitting on the beach and watching the waves as she waited for Jacob to get off patrol. Leah sat beside her.
"How can you stand it? Giving Sam so much power over you?" Maya asked
"You don't understand." Leah scoffed
"I understand that an imprint doesn't automatically mean a romantic relationship or Quil would be dead already. I understand that you loved Sam enough to agree to marry him. I understand that you and Emily allowed a man to get between blood." Maya said patiently
"If you understand so much then how can you ask such a question."
"Because I don't believe you understand what the imprint bond did for you. You are blaming the bond instead of Sam because Sam doesn't understand either. The bond did not force Sam to give you up. He could have had a sibling bond with Emily. Sam chose to give you up and blamed it on the bond. You can easily move on and this would merely be a bad breakup. The imprint is not something to fear but something to be understood as a new bond to be explored. Most times imprints lead to romantic relationships but not always." Maya lectured
Leah actually thought about it before getting up to leave.
"So the imprint bond didn't lead to the relationship between you and Jacob?" Leah smirked
"I've been in love with Jacob since I was 10 years old after listening to the cold ones story at a camp fire, and he promised to be my prince so no pale faced cold one could take me away ever." Maya said smirking back
Leah left to think and Maya went back to waiting. Maya later learned that everyone in the pack had relaxed around after learning of the talk Maya and Leah though Sam sulked about her downing him.
Flashback End
Maya sat and ate with the Pack and Imprints.
