It is the day after and you are driving to work. You are impatiently tapping on the steering wheel because the traffic is not moving and you need to get to work. You see a woman staggering.
"someone please help me," the woman says
"there's been a pile-up"
you get out of your car knowing the fact that all lanes are blocked and nobody is moving
"ok let me help you," you say as you approach the woman
"no not me," she says as she starts to stagger back to the scene
You follow her to find a five-car pile-up being attended by fire crews. You find a child who has a massive gash on his head. He was thrown from the car.
"I need a C collar," you say jumping into action
"who are you?" Matt Casey asks
you just show him your Chicago med ID badge
"I was in the traffic behind I saw a Vic," you say pointing to the woman who alerted you to the incident
"Now I need a C collar for this boy,"
"here (Y/N), Gabriella says as she passes you a C collar
you lean down and place the C collar on the kid. Stella wheels a stretcher towards the boy and she places a backboard underneath and they slide the kid on.
"Hey you," you say getting the woman's attention
"yea?" she replies clearly in pain
"let me look at you," you say as you get up and walk towards her
"ok," she sits down on the kerb
"(Y/N)?" Will says catching you by surprise
"Will, I'll explain later," you say focusing your attention on the woman
"what's your name?"
"Alyssia," she replies clearly in pain
"Let's get you on a stretcher, Gabi?" you say trying to comfort her

An hour later the pile-up has been cleared and you have made it to the ED
"Hey (Y/N) you're late what happened?" Ethan asks as you organise yourself
"there was a pile-up on the way," you say.
"you should know that,"
Two minutes later you are at the centre workstation reading your next patient's chart, it belongs to Alyssia. You've done the reading so you head to trauma room three
"Hello again Alyssia," you say
"Hey doc," she replies
"I'm going to give you some morphine for the pain and then I'm going to order a chest X-ray for you, April can I get a one mil dose of morphine please?" you ask
"one mil of morphine," April says as she passes you a needle
"thank you," you say as you inject the morphine into Alyssia's arm
five minutes later and you've done everything you need to with Alyssia so you are back in the rec room. You are using the computer to look at your dad's medical records. There is something else your dad didn't tell you.
"Hey (Y/N) what were you doing at the pile-up earlier," Will says making you log out of the computer
"I was asked for help, so I helped," you reply
"and what were you doing looking at your dad's records?" he says because he noticed what you were doing on the computer
"Look Will don't tell anyone but I think my dad didn't tell me why he came back after seventeen years" you say
"I've got an idea," he says
"what?" you ask
"why don't we go on another date to get your mind off the things that have happened," he says cheering you up a little bit
"ok we will go on a date tomorrow we should both have the day off," you reply with a big grin on your face
"ok tomorrow it is then," Will says closing the deal
