Lady Dimitrescu's Little One

chapter 1

Helene POV

I was walking through town, trying to look for a job, basically anything that would let me earn a little bit of money and let me get some food to eat and shelter

But no one wanted to hire me..... Maybe it was because of my size, that I was so tiny and small, but that didn't mean that I wasn't a hard worker because I really am

Wandering far away from the village area I entered a Forest, I thought that maybe I can find some fruits that I could eat! Because I was really really hungry

This forest is much thicker than any other forest I've been in and it is just filled with big strong trees that were really dense

I did find some friendly rabbits to play with! And they showed me around the area, I giggled softly as one of them landed itself right on my lap and nuzzled in

I was kicked out of my house 2 months ago, from a town that was about 4 days from here, it wasn't my fault, he found someone who could pay more and kicked me out

I walked all the way to here, hoping that I could get a fresh start here, maybe get a job and earn again

Suddenly a sound from my left jolted me up, making me gasp in surprise and all the bunnies ran away....  Leaving me all alone in the middle of know where

From the branches of one of the bushes, a big crow came out and it seemed to stare straight into my eyes before letting out a loud craw and flew away

I followed after the crow, which turned out to be really hard because the crow was crazy fast and I stumbled on a few stones scratching my knees

But whenever I looked up I saw the crow, after what felt like forever I saw an opening of light, which meant I was near the opening and I ran towards it, coming out to an open field where it felt like grass was everywhere and alone stood a really big gated old house, well more like a mansion

It looked very barren from the outside, but I could see a few ladies working near the outside, so people definitely did live there, maybe they could hire me?

With hope in my eyes I knocked softly on the door and waited for 10 seconds before someone opened the door, and by the looks of it she was the head maid

"Yes?" She asked in a cold tone, making me shrink to look even smaller than I did "I-I was um..  Wondering if there was any vacancy for any job?" I asked in a soft tone, trying my best to be polite even though she wasn't being very polite

"We don't take short stacks, only people who can actually work" She says in the same monotone tone that she was using and was about to slam the door on my face

"Let her in" I voice whispered from the dark, it sounded really raspy and held a lot of authority and after hearing the voice the maid's face all about paled and she motioned for me to enter the house

From the dark shadows of the corner of the hallway, a tall lady came out, she gave the head maid a look, and it was enough to make her scramble out of the room, suddenly looking around that we were the only two people in hte hallway making me cower back slightly

"What is it you desire little girl?" She said in a tone much softer than the one she used against the maid and gave me a small smile, as if she already knew what my classification was

In this world you are given a classification test when you're 10 and it decides if you are a caregiver, a neutral or a little...  And I was a little, but the good thing is that no one can tell what the other person is unless they tell them or see their classification card

"I-I want a job" I said in a whisper, mentally yelling at myself for stuttering in front of such a beautiful lady

"And what is your classification sweet girl?" She asked again, her smile seeming to intensify as she watched me making me shift on my spot slightly and I watched as she crouched down in front of me, her deep red eyes that were surprisingly gentle towards me stared into my blue ones

"A-A little" I whispered and without warning my bottom lip trembled knowing that I had messed up my chances of getting a job here as well.... No one wanted to hire a little, we were a bother and trouble... And I thought I could stay in this pretty house with the pretty lady

I watched the lady's eyes furrowed a little and one after one my tears continued to fall

Lady Dimitrescu  POV

I sensed that a little was around manshion, and that was a really rare thing, I made sure to keep my house away from all the villages and people so that no one can wander here unless they want to reach here or get lost

I looked out my study window and there was a tiny girl, looking towards my house, staring curiously towards the maids, by the looks of it, it seemed like she didn't have a home and hadn't eaten food in a really long time

Her eyes looked towards the house again and I caught a glimpse of those innocent blue eyes, that maybe for the first time in centuries made me melt

I watched her every move, from the way she skipped over thr grassy land with a small smile on her face, and how her face got slightly nervous as she approached my house and she waited a good 5 minutes before deciding to knock on the door

Just in luck the head maid, who's name I couldn't care myself to remember opened the door, I settled on hiding in the corner of the hallway and watch the interaction

If there was any doubt about the fact that she was a little, all of them went away the moment I heard the quiet whispered tone she used

The conversation went on for about 5 minutes after which the stupid maid was about to slam the door shut on her face making me frown

I told her to let her in, in the most cold tone that I could, I smirked satisfactorily as her face paled and she let the little thing enter inside the house

I came out of the shadows making me presence known and gave a hard glare to the head maid, knowing pure well there was no such rule inside my house to turn away people

She turned even paler if that was possible and scrambled out of the hallway, so did all the other maids, getting my message

I tried to talk gently to the little girl and crouched down in front of her hoping that it would made me slightly less scary, I didn't wanna scare the little thing away

Turns out that asking about her classification was a wrong thing as her eyes Immediately teared up and she silently let out those tears, having some sort of contemplation in her mind

"Hey hey, what's wrong little one?" Her head seemed to perk up at the mention of the little name and I could tell she had slipped "me little so nu haf wowk..." She mumbled softly putting one thumb in her mouth and the other hand was rubbing her eyes, it took everything in me not to scoop her up and hold her to my chest

"Well, this is my house so I make the rules, and there is no such rule that says that littles can't stay here...  About working I'm not sure, but if you want to little one you can stay here, does that sound good kiddo?" I asked reaching out to tuck some of her light brown hair behind her eyes, I wiped away her tears with my thumb and watched with a smile as she leaned into my touch

"Me stay?" She asked her voice still very uncertain, "you are more than welcome to stay little one" I said with a smile, she gave me a small smile back and surprised me by coming closer and wrapping her arms around my neck and hugging me mumbling a small 'fank you' and all the control I had got lost

Soo.... Here we have it, the first chapter! Things are gonna progress sooon! So stay tuned
