BEFORE CAROLINE finished unpacking and settling into her new room, she decided that she would explore the halls, maybe talk to a few people. She ventured out into the corridor that was filled with boys finding their rooms and visiting their friends. A couple of heads turned her way as she walked, but she tried her hardest to keep her eyes forward.
She was about halfway down the hall when she heard a somewhat familiar voice coming from one of the rooms in front of her. She crept up slowly to the open doorway before peeking in slightly. She saw Neil, the boy from earlier leaning next to the window in his room. There were four other boys in the room, one was unpacking his stuff, and the other three seemed to have just walked him.
She was about to suck out of sight when one of them turned back to the doorway, pointing at one of the boys behind him. "Meeks-" he cut himself off when he saw the girl standing in the doorway. He froze in place, his eyes wide as he stared. This led to the other three boys, not the roommate, to look turn to see what he was looking at.
