The next few days were very tame, no big thing happened. I spent lunchtime with Clare and Grace since they were the only nice girls in this department, which I don't mind because the rest gives me time to work on my actual job.

Weirdly, I didn't find anything new on the code of the virus but I think that I have enough things to find out who it was.

Like the days before, I got there earlier because it's the easiest way to get more work done. The only major problem with that is that Garrett always gets there around the same time as me. Today included.

Looking towards my desk, the little box is still there, but so was Garrett. Today, he was wearing something more formal. He probably has an important meeting, since he is the next IT boss, from what I've heard.

"Are you done checking me out?"

I was so shocked by his voice that I almost fell on my butt.

"Don't need to fall that fast"

Hearing the second meaning, I rolled my eyes and went to my desk.

"I wasn't checking you out... I was thinking about my agenda today. It just happened that you were in my line of sight."- I explained myself with my hair in front of my face so that he couldn't see me.

"Sure you were "- He said but this time his voice sounded much closer to me.

To confirm my suspicions, I look up and there he is. Right in front of me.

I put some distance between us by leaning back and challenge him with my eyes.

"Can you read my mind? I don't think you can"- I say back.

"And how do you know that? I might be able to... you never really know"- Garrett answers right back.

"I guess, I will find out, won't I? Now let me do my job"

That's how far our conversation went that morning.

By the way, I will never admit to him that I was, in fact, checking him out.

The weirdest part of that day was when somebody interrupted my workflow.

"Garrett, not now"- I assume

"My name is Jessica, not Garrett"- The voice says chuckling.

I know I remembered that name from somewhere but I only knew from where when I looked at her.

She is one of the main suspects.

"Oh! Hi! Sorry about that!"- I apologize."Garrett loves to annoy me at this time"- I explain myself trying to make me seem nicer.

"It's alright! I get it!"- Jessica answered but with a weird smile.

"What do you need?"- I ask, going back to my computer.

"Oh! I was wondering if you wanted to eat with me and Jack in the break room today"- She suggests.

At that moment, I looked up again and found her looking at me with a face that said 'I'm trying to convince you of something'.

"Yeah, sure"- I agree with a small smile.

Why would I pass up this opportunity of spending my time with the possible suspects?

I was only confused when I locked eyes with Garrett, from across the room, and he was just supporting a smirk.

Trying to not think much of it, I smirked and winked back.

It's fun messing with his brain.

Looking at him through the computer screen, I saw him get in the conference room behind me.

It was finally my lunch break, so I grabbed my lunch and warned Clare that I was feeling the break room today.

When I got there Jessica and Jack were already inside.

I greeted both of them and started eating.

The first person to interrupt the silence was Jack.

"Are you seeing anyone?"

I only response to that was shock also, I choked on my food while Garrett made his presence known by closing the fridge door harshly.

"Uhm... no, dating is not for me."- I answered when I found my voice.

At my answer, both of them widened their smiles and shared a look.

"Why...?"- I wondered extending the 'y'.

They might not be guilty in my case, but they are, definitely, doing something illegal.

"You might be able to help us with something."- Jessica whispered seeing that Garrett was still in the room.

"And that is...?"

"We will tell you in time"- Jessica exposes and Jack nods.

For the rest of lunchtime, we got to know each other, or, I got to know them.
