Samantha walked down the corridors, a serious and angry demeanor adorning her features. Her fists were clenched, and the feeling of worry that spread in her body was so overwhelming, it hurt.

Finally reaching the right doors, she pushed them open and sighed heavily, earning the glances of the people around. Samantha's eyes looked for the specific green eyes, wanting to see if he was okay.

Dumbledore suddenly approached her side, clearing his throat, but her eyes were still looking.

❝Ms Castle—❞

❝Where is Harry?❞ Samantha questioned, raising her eyebrow.

Dumbledore nodded slowly ❝Samantha, you need to know that there's no going back, the decision is already made❞

❝With whose permission?❞ she clenched her fist, looking at the people in the room who shot looks at her ❝do I have to remind you that Harry is a minor? I'm his guardian, and I do not grant him permission to compete❞

❝There's nothing you can do anymore, Samantha, his name came out of the goblet in front of everyone❞

❝and we're going to listen to a bloody goblet to tell us who has to risk their life?❞

Dumbledore shook his head ❝It has been decided, and Harry—❞

❝Harry has been blame for something he didn't do, again❞ she smiled sarcastically, she cleared her throat ❝Where is Harry?❞

❝and you believe him?❞ a voice behind them asked, unconsciously, she rolled her eyes.

❝of course I believe him, Severus, if he said he didn't do it, he didn't do it❞ she turned around, crossing her arms against her chest.

Severus scoffed, interlacing his hands ❝well, we all know how you're judge of character can be, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up—❞

❝He's telling the truth, or do you have a problem, Severus?❞ Samantha raised her eyebrow, looking at him accusatory.

If she wanted, she could expose every single person in the room. Throughout the years, she had made many friendships, and the wave of secrets and lies soon was uncovered for her.

❝Samantha, please❞ Dumbledore stepped forward, watching between the two former classmates.

❝Where is Harry?❞ she asked again, turning to see the man.

❝In Minerva's office❞ Dumbledore took a step back, interlacing his fingers.

❝Thank you❞ she simply replied and walked away, knowing the path well.

Her footsteps echoed as she made her way to the familiar office. Although on the outside she seemed calm, in the inside she was shaking.

She knocked the twice before entering, and once she did, Harry, who was sitting down near her looked up. Samantha sighed, tilting her head as his features came down.

Harry stood up and they embraced tightly. Samantha closed her eyes, resting her head next to his, he was getting taller. She sniffed, releasing a shaky breath.

❝I didn't do it❞ Harry mumbled against her coat, shaking his head ❝I didn't put my name on the goblet, but everyone thinks so❞

❝Of course you didn't, you're sane unlike the rest of the people who think you did❞ Samantha muttered, passing a hand through his hair. The two separated, and she put a hand in his cheek ❝have they told you something?❞

❝I have to compete❞ Harry looked down, and Sam scoffed.

❝Like hell you will❞

❝Mr Crouch already made the decision, I have to❞ Harry looked at her, and she couldn't help but see the fear in his eyes.

❝and since when do you obey someone who isn't me?❞ she raised her eyebrows, causing him to chuckle. She smiled lightly, at least she made him laugh ❝I'm going to talk to them, and if they refuse, we can...go to another country? I hear France has a good school❞

❝I don't want to run❞ Harry shook his head, and she squeezed his shoulders for support.

❝and I don't want you to compete in that tournament❞ she frowned, looking around the office ❝the things that they do are dangerous, and I can't lose you❞

❝You won't lose me, never❞ Harry smiled lightly, putting a hand on top of hers ❝I'm right here, aren't I?❞

Samantha chuckled, shaking her head ❝When did you grew up so fast?❞

Samantha pass a hand through her hair, sighing in defeat. For the last two hours, she had been arguing with not only the school officials, but the Ministry people who were in charge of the event. It had gone up to a point were they threatened to fire her if she didn't stop. It wasn't until Harry dragged her to the side and told her he wanted to complete, he was sure of it.

A hand squeezed her shoulder, and she closed her eyes. A tea cup was placed in front of her, and the spot next to her was soon occupied.

    ❝You're stressing❞

Samantha shook her head ❝what else am I supposed to do?❞

❝breath deeply, then think❞ Remus smiled, setting down his own cup.

❝What if something happens to him? Or-or he gets injured? What about the rest of the kids, they can get hurt too❞ Samantha groan, covering her face with her hands ❝This should've never happened❞

❝The school will make sure they are not in danger❞ Remus said, trying to make her feel better ❝They're not going to run around recklessly❞

❝are we talking about the same school that has a giant three head dog in one of the floors?❞ Sam questioned, he opened his mouth to respond but he decided that it wasn't the best ❝something can always go wrong, no matter how protected and safe it's planned❞

Remus sighed ❝everything will be okay❞ he passed his arm around her, and she turned to leaned on him.

❝I'm not so sure about that anymore❞ she whispered, exhaling.

❝now that's not the real Sam talking❞ he leaned his head on top of hers, and Sam opened her eyes, managing to smile a little.

❝lately the real Sam has been scared❞ she whispered, looking at the space in front of them.

❝Me too❞ Remus confessed, looking at the same space with his own thoughts messing him.

❝I don't want to lose myself, not again❞

❝There's only one thing we can do❞ Remus whispered, and she looked up to him. He looked down, a sad smile in his lips ❝hope for the best❞

Samantha analyzed his face, and pursed her lips. She didn't answered, instead, she went to look at the previous space.

She didn't had the heart to tell him that hope sometimes wasn't the best thing. Hope only left a big space in their lives, waiting to be fulfilled. Sometimes, hope was a dangerous thing. She had learned that in the hard way.
