CHAPTER TWENTY THREE
'NOTHING BUT HATRED'
The redhead across from him was smooth with her pretty words, long eyelashes fluttering with a promise as she leaned across the table, a crude smile spread across her lips.
Dean never thought he'd be in the position when he'd turned down an attractive woman who seemed as if she was about to pounce across the table to jump his bones, yet here he was.
Pressing his lips together, Dean's eyes flickered to the girl's toilet door where Lux had hastily retreated. He'd seen the look in her eyes, the upset he was causing her, and yet again he found himself torn of what to do.
He cared for Lux, hell- he actually liked her, but the risk of her getting hurt because of him prevented him from acting on his feelings.
Plus; she was a beautiful young girl, way younger than himself, a girl like Lux deserved some young, fancy hot-shot lawyer.
She deserved a nice two-story house, a manicured lawn and a pristine white-picket fence. She deserved better than an underground, outdated bunker, surrounded by fields of overgrown weeds with chain-link fences.
