Lux Everdeen was your average twenty-one year old, working nine to five in a waitressing job she deeply detested, with every penny she earned filling a space in the half-full jar labelled 'college fund'.

Despite her curiosity, Lux was too apprehensive to peer into the dreaded jar, to count the coins to see how much she had raised, fully well knowing it was not nearly enough for her to attend college.

"I don't understand why you do it, Luxy."

Twirling a red coil around her pointer finger, Sadie raised an inquisitive brow, arching back comfortably against Lux's creased bed sheets. "I mean, if you really hate it that much, why don't you just quit?" Sadie questioned.

Suppressing an irritated sigh that was dying to fall from her lips, Lux slouched back into the wooden desk chair, mentally wondering how many times she had to explain to Sadie that she just couldn't quit.

"We've been over this like a hundred times, Sades." Lux responded simply.

Releasing the strand of hair from her finger, the curl spiralled upwards as Sadie rolled over to lay on her stomach, facing the blonde.
