This is weird.

That whole car journey was weird.

First, he actually admitted he was jealous which is something I never thought I'd hear but then he holds my hand and kisses the back of it.

This is like high school when we'd all get excited over these small things that happened with the person we were all crushing on but this is different.

Eighteen years I've known him and not once have I ever seen him show any kind of physical affection, to anyone. I was never like that, I show people how much I care by how affectionate I am. Maybe it was an Italy thing, back there everyone was affectionate, or everyone in my family was except for Lina.

But Matt, he never was. He was always pissed and any time his family would try and hug him, he'd just freeze up till eventually they just stopped altogether and he seems happy about that. Well as happy as he can be, it's Matt after all. But now he's the one showing me all of this affection, like he's bottled it up for years and now he's finally using it on me.

I mean I'm not complaining, it's just weird.

He finally lets go of my hand and I open the door to the car and climb out before taking a sleeping Aida out of her car seat, I pick her up so her head is on my shoulder and her curly black hair is tickling the sides of my neck.

It's crazy to think four months ago, it's some random ass day in July, all of our lives changed and now it's nearly the end of November.

Wait.

November.

I check my phone for the date and gasp.

Thanksgiving is in three days and I'm suppose to be on bed rest.

"Is there a reason you just gasped like a soap opera star?" Matt asks as he begins to grab the bags from the trunk.

"It's Aidas first thanksgiving and I can't leave my house!" I exclaim in a whisper.

"So?"

"What do you mean so? It's a big deal. We have to do something." I exclaim again.

Matt rolls his eyes and begins walking into the building with like eight different bags in his hands and I run after him, trying my best not to wake Aida up.

"Ev. She's nearly ten months old, she's not going to remember it." Matt grumbles, holding the door open for us with his foot.

"Thanksgiving may not mean a lot to you but it means a lot to me but you wouldn't know because every time we had a joint thanksgiving, you stayed in your room. I spent time with mama before she died and the year she did die, she bought us all presents because she didn't know if she'd make it to Christmas and after that, every thanksgiving, my dad and I would buy gifts as a tradition. Aida needs a tradition Teo." I tell him as we step into the elevator.
