"Are you sure you're okay?" Cameron asked. Gina had been fidgety the whole ride to school and the boy had no idea why. He had been away from school due to his All American game and excessive college visits.
Gina turned and sent the boy a nod and he unlocked the door allowing her to escape endless questions.
"Where are you going?" Cameron called out watching as she walked towards Jalen, Jordan, Coleman, and Nimari.
"Um, I gotta go ask Jalen about AP Lit. Meet me in the commons after you put up your stuff." Gina said, rushing away from the football player.
All eyes were on her as she approached. Coleman and Nimari looking confused as ever while Jalen and Jordan were in deep conversation.
"Hey." Gina greeted a little bit quieter than she liked, "Hi." She said a little bit louder while Coleman and Nimari nudged their two teammates.
Jordan was the first to look up as Jalen continued talking, unaware of her presence, and obviously very excited about something for basketball season. Jordan sent her a wave before snaking Jalen upside the head making his lookup.
"Oh hey Gina, wassup?" The boy asked stuffing his phone in his pocket.
The girl looked at all of the boys standing around, but they didn't catch her hint. "Can we talk privately?"
