"You look nervous," Walter teased me as we stood outside his front door.

I shrugged, pulling on the sleeves of my jumper, waiting for him to stop staring at me and open the door.

"I'm not gonna let any of them hurt you, you know," Walter still gazed down at me. "They wouldn't anyway."

"I know," I said, but it didn't ease the butterflies in my stomach.

Walter chuckled under his breath and unlocked the front door. It was Thursday and the third time Walter was letting me into his home in just a couple weeks. We were greeted by the pounding bass coming from upstairs that ran through the walls and made my heart jump in my chest in time to the beat of the song playing.

"The triplets," Walter said over the noise.

"They got back that fast?" I had to raise my voice.

"They use their bikes," he explained. "I'm gonna tell them to turn that shit down. There's no way we can work in that."

"Sure," I nodded.

"Help yourself to anything in the kitchen," Walter said to me. "I'll be right back."

I crept into the kitchen, even though it was empty, and took a bottle of water that I found in the fridge. Deciding to go and wait for Walter in the living room, I opened the door and jumped when I saw that it wasn't vacant. To my luck, only two brothers were in there. Gomez, the triplet I remembered with the streak of brown in his blond fringe, was showing his older brother Landon an expensive looking watch. They stopped talking when they saw me, and Gomez slipped the watch into his pocket.

"Hey..." I stood by the door.

Was that something I shouldn't have seen? They probably didn't even hear me over the music which was still blaring and practically shaking the whole house.

Landon cracked a smile at me, immediately making my shoulders sink in relief.

"Come sit! Feel at home, we don't bite," he said loudly in a smooth voice, which sounded a bit like Walter's.

I smiled back and sat down in an unoccupied leather sofa. Gomez got up and walked past me, slamming the door shut.

"That's better," he said, his voice ten times clearer already.

To my surprise, he sat on the end of the same sofa as me and I forced myself to hold his eye contact, he was a kid, he shouldn't have been intimidating at all. It was only yesterday when he and his triplets had jokingly winked at me and Hayley at lunch.

Gomez grinned, "So who was your friend the other day at the canteen?"

I shook my head, smiling at the memory, "Her name is Hayley."

Gomez nodded to himself, digesting my information.

"So you're here with Walter again I'm guessing?" Landon asked me.

"Yeah," I rubbed my face, hiding a smile.

"Why do you like Walter so much anyway?" Landon questioned, stretching out in the sofa and filling Gomez's empty space with his legs.
