someone gave me lovely flowers
and asked that I keep them as mine
but I have come to realise
Some good things come at the wrong time
someone gave me lovely flowers
and I kept them for a week
after which I hardy gave
them any water to drink.
someone gave me lovely flowers
and expected me to care
because apparently I did love
their look so wild and fair
Someone gave me, a lovely flower
that I treat with negligence
I find it hard to really try
to care about myself
before you give me any flowers
I'd like to let you know
that just because I admire them
doesn't mean I'll make them grow.
But with all of these lovely flowers
That I have and I have lost
I pray that I grow to treat myself
and them as worthy of love.
and as drops of water make an ocean
I will put my care into motion.
