Samyukta knocked on the door softly, just enough to draw Shehnaaz's attention. Samyukta was wearing a black ankle length dress, paired with high stilettos Shehnaz smiled. "You look very beautiful darling. Birthday girl ko complex dene ka iraada hai."

Samyukta blushed. "Thank you. Birthday girl ka dress bhi similar hai, we have a proper dress code." She said in a hushed whisper.

"Mera outfit theek hai? Teri be-izzati toh nahi ho jaayegi?" Shehnaaz asked playfully.

Samyukta frowned. "Bahot pyaari lagg rahi ho maami, meri sab friends mein meri taur bann jaayegi.

Shehnaaz smiled. "Thank you meri jaan. Ab chalein? I'll take my car."

Samyukta shook her head. "Cab le ke jaayein? Paas hi hai venue. Udhar parking ka bahot gadbad rehta hai."

Shehnaaz sighed. "Since you know the place, I won't argue." She said. "Tu cab book kar, mein aati hoon."

"Maamu ko mat bolna please." Samyukta requested.

"Nahi bata rahi maamu ko, shaanti rakh baccha. Mera phone aur wallet leke aa rahi hoon." Shehnaaz assured her. "Chal tu neeche pahunch mein aa rahi hoon."

Samyukta nodded and ran out of the room. Shehnaaz shook her head fondly at the younger girl.

"Bilkul bacchi hai."

Shehnaaz & Samyukta entered the club. The place was pulsing with music. There were girls and boys enjoying themselves. Shehnaaz held the corner of her dress, nervously. First time into a club and she was responsible for another person. This could easily turn into a disaster.

Samyukta was bouncing in excitement, scanning the area for her friends. Shehnaaz smiled at her. "Don't go running off without me, okay? Mein idhar kisi ko nahi jaanti hoon." She said softly.

Samyukta nodded obediently and pulled Shehnaaz towards her group and introduced her to her friends. In a matter of minutes, each of Samyukta's friends had gelled up to Shehnaaz. Samyukta was busy flaunting her beautiful maami to her friends when one of the boys pulled the birthday girl for a dance.

"Chal Samyukta, hop on to the dance floor." The girl called out, over the now slightly mallowed music.

Samyukta looked at Shehnaaz. "Mami, aap kya karogi?" She asked softly.

"Teri mami bhi dance karegi na." Interjected another one of her friends. "Mere saath."

Samyukta smiled. "Dhyaan rakhna unka."

"Badi behen hai meri, tu bindass ja." She responded.

Samyukta glanced at Shehnaaz who nodded. "Jaa baba, party enjoy karne aayi hai ya mujhe ghoorne?"

Samyukta pouted but then turned and ran towards the dance-floor, leaving Shehnaaz with her friend.

"My parents took me to one of your plays." She confessed rather sheepishly. "I know this is not the place but I just wanted to say that I really like you."

"If you were a boy, it would've been awkward." Shehnaaz said with a smile. "You aren't, so we're fine."

The younger girl grinned. "I'm Anjali Sharma. Can I call you didi?"

"Of course."

"Dance karne chalein?" She asked hopefully.

Shehnaaz nodded. "Sure."

Anjali grinned excitedly and pulled Shehnaaz along with herself to the dance floor.

Shehnaaz chuckled softly at the younger girl's excitement and allowed herself to be steered by her.
