Well, as HarmonySoul has said I'm lucky enough to have access to the new Animal Crossing game available on mobile called Pocket Camp. Now, from what I gather, it comes out world wide at the end of the month, but Australia somehow got granted early access (like, really?). I live in aus so I got an opportunity to acquire it. If you're wanting to get a feel for the gameplay etc spoiler free, then you might not want to read.

First of all, this game requires constant internet, Like a lot of other games. So offline there is not really any use in playing if you're in a location with shifty net.

Graphic-wise it's very good. The graphics are almost on par with New Leaf and its very pleasant. The character animations are very smooth and while running around it was almost seamless.

The control interface is rather clean and smooth for a touch screen, and thankfully harvesting items is pretty simple

Basic customisation applies to both your camping grounds and your camper van, I get the feeling the addition to New Leaf that gave the camp grounds and the meow coupons were a precursor to this game in a sense

In this you can use Leaf Tickets, which you earn by doing tasks, similar to New Leaf. Leaf Tickets have a broader sense of use where you use them to either negate the wait time of crafting, or you can buy specials with them. Basically its like digital currency for tasks and you can buy them. But the cost of tickets is quite steep so it's not worth really doing anything with them unless its buying crafting slots and the like.

And finally, the villagers you befriend in the game. There is more depth added to the characters, and as you complete requests and interact with them, their friendship hearts level up, which in turn increases your own level, leading to more things being unlocked. You befriend your villages, and lead to inviting them to your camp. Once you level enough to do so, you have to make sure your campsite has the items they like, and then add them.

The benefit for Pocket Camp is that you can actually choose who fills your camp spots once you exceed your 8 animals and further. You just swap them out as much as you want.

All in all, while I feel it's missing a lot of the story that New Leaf has, it's well worth the download when its available where you are

Anyways that's my view on the new game.
