A/N Chapter 7 here we go!

Chapter 7-

I gape at him.

"What do you mean you don't know? How could you not know?" I was in shock. Edward was dangerous and needed to be locked up far, far away, not on the loose. He could be watching us right now.

I shuddered at the thought of his red eyes following my every move, waiting till I'm alone before pouncing.

"After you collapsed, he bolted. We couldn't catch him. Human blood has made him stronger, faster, and more powerful. We are no match for him. He can anticipate our every move." I shook my head in disbelief.

Edward terrified me before he had human blood in his system. I could only imagine him now.

"Well what are we going to do?" I asked. There was no easy answer, that was certain. Carlisle ran a hand through his golden locks in obvious distress.

"I have no idea. We will discuss this but only after you shower and rest. You have a say Bella, you are apart of this family." I smiled briefly at Carlisle's ever so kind words before settling back into a more somber expression.

As we drove into the Cullen's driveway, Alice was standing at the door looking very panicked. Carlisle helped me out of the car immediately and we walked at a fast pace (for me), towards Alice.

"Carlisle, Bella, I'm glad you guys are here. We have much to discuss and little time. Bella, quickly, shower and dress and come downstairs."

Carlisle opens his mouth to protest, but Alice cuts him off.
"There is no time to waste, Carlisle. Bella, hurry!"

I nod my consent and rush up the stairs to Alice and Jasper's shower. I saw Alice laid out clothes for me and I smiled. Even in the midst of panic, Alice thinks of me.

After checking that indeed Carlisle had waterproofed by neck bandages with plastic, I stepped under the hot spray and allowed myself a moment to relax.

The hot water eased my sore muscles and I washed my hair and body, scrubbing off blood and grime. I felt significantly cleaner and fresher now that I was shaved and showered.

I heard Alice calling for me to 'hurry the fučk up' so I finished quickly and hurried out of the shower cubicle. My skin was a light pink and the mirror had steam covering it from the heat of the shower. I liked my water scalding hot.

I, being the epitome of mature, drew a smiley face.

No shame at all.

I put on the dark blue skinny jeans and silky, forest green top Alice laid out for me.

The lacy dark green lingerie Alice put out, admittedly, would've looked amazing if it wasn't for the bruises covering my ribs and the exposed large part of my collarbone.

I headed downstairs and Emmet met me at the bottom of the staircase. His looming presence gave me comfort. Emmet would always be my brother bear.

"My lady," he said, bowing mockingly and he gestured towards the dining room where everyone was seated. I snorted and rolled my eyes but complied by jokingly curtsying before he led me into the deafeningly silent room.

I sat in between Rosalie and Esme, who grabbed my hand and squeezed it gently before letting go.

I needed all the comfort I could get.

"My family, we have come to discuss Edward. Any ideas on how to handle the situation?" Carlisle asked, sounding tired and stressed. If vampires needed sleep, Carlisle would be in bed for a few days.

"Can't we just let him be? So long as he never comes back, he doesn't matter." Rose said. She obviously didn't want to hurt Edward. I understood that, I suppose. Jasper, on the other hand, rolled his eyes.

"You honestly think he isn't coming back? We should hunt him down and make sure he never hurts anyone, least of all Bella, ever again." Jasper said, his golden eyes flashing with malice.

Alice chimed in, "I saw Edward. He is killing humans, and lots of them. He's very erratic, but he's planning on coming to drain Bella. He's obsessed with her blood."

I shivered. Truth be told, I wasn't some brave heroine. I didn't want to die, not today, no tomorrow, not next week or next year.

And certainly I didn't want to die by Edwards cruel hands.

"Then let's follow through with Jaspers plan. Let's kill him." Emmet said, a note of finality in his tone.

"You honestly think we could overpower him? Just us? And let's rule out Bella, Esme, Rosalie, and Alice. None of them are close to strong enough to fight, except Rose, but we'd want her and Alice to watch over Bella while Esme stand by." Carlisle stated all the facts and it seemed to put on damper on Jasper and Emmets impulsive and violent mood.

"So what do you suggest?" Alice asked Carlisle in her high, lilting voice. Carlisle looked at her gravely, and her eyes seemed to travel far away before refocusing. I noticed how Jasper held her hand tightly, as if he was seeing it along with her.

"Oh Carlisle.....really and truly?" Alice seemed to know the answer as she asked her question.

"Yes. I think the Volturi are our best option. We can ask for some of the guard to assist us and they can arrest him, so to speak, and deal with him." Carlisle addressed us all, yet I was confused. What was a Volturi?

I voiced my question, blushing all the while. I had so much to learn about vampirism. I cannot believe a year ago I would have jumped for joy if Edward wanted to change me. However, I realize that I have a lot to learn.

"The Volturi are an old and powerful coven. There are three brothers, and they are the kings of the vampire world. They promote order and justice and they put a stop to any killings sprees. They have a guard, an small army of gifted vampires that are sent out on missions to protect both vampires and humans from, well, vampires.
They reside in Volterra, Italy in a large castle. The kings and I are friends, however, I fear they will see you and demand your change, which is why Alice is so hesitant about calling for them."

I contemplated my options and realized rather quickly, there were two. It was obvious what I would choose.

"Carlisle, I'd rather be changed than be killed. Call for their help. It's our only way."

The rest of the meeting was brief and Carlisle went to call the brothers. Rosalie took me to Carlisle's study and showed me a portrait of the brothers.

One of them, Aro was his name, caught my immediate attention.

He was beautiful, and timeless, and just perfect. I longed to meet him but I knew I was no match for his vampiric beauty. He was godly with his Raven black hair and red, piercing eyes. I yearned to hold him, to breathe his air, to see him in person. Just once.

Caius and Marcus, the other brothers, were attractive as well, but I only had eyes for Aro. Too soon, Rosalie led me out of the study and away from Aro's perfection.

She told me about the guard, and their gifts. Jane and Alec, the two most powerful of all the guard. She told me of Demetri, and how his tracking skills would be of utmost help in finding and defeating Edward.

I was fascinated and in a bizarre way, excited, to meet the Volturi.

If only I could meet Aro.

Maybe, maybe, if I crossed my fingers tightly, my dream could come true.
